I have a small coop, and only two hens, and this heater works great. Before using the heater, one of my hens had ice crystals on her back. My girls wouldn't leave the coop, but they do now, and go back in to a cozy coop.

We are so pleased with our purchase. Our chickens like it too with our cold Minnesota winter climate. We also like the idea of using radiant heat versus a heat lamp for safety reasons. I would definitely recommend this product.

The heater works just as suggested and takes the chill out of the coop. Definitely would recommend to a friend.

Its a great design. Looks stylish in my bird coop. I have them hanging near the perches and my guineas snuggle up against it and act like they love the warmth on these very cold nights. Totally worth the money. They are suppose to have a buult in themostate and actomatically come on when the temp turns to 32 degrees but i have not seen that yet. My in house thermonitor says sometimes 60 degrees and they are both on. And sometimes not. Havent figured this out yet. I bought one at two different sights including this site. Thats the only reason im giving it 4 stars. Otherwise its a good product and no reason to send them back because i can control it with a switch.

We've been having a really hard winter. I've raised chickens all my life and heaters in farm-world I come from are generally a no-no due to fire risk mitigation or the danger to the birds in extreme temperature swings. The cold snap here got so bad I couldn't tolerate it anymore, though, and we bought this. This provides a perfect amount of heat for my birds to comfortably huddle up and it makes me feel good they feel good. I prefer this to other heaters, even though it doesn't provide the intense heat of other options that fact makes me feel like it's a safer alternative. We did mount it, to avoid it coming in direct contact with bedding. The chickens perch up right next to it and it really does help stave off the extreme chill. It's been doing its job, helping keep their combs from freezing and frostbite in sub-zero temperatures, which was and is the ultimate the goal.
