Baby Chicks: Cream Legbar Female Reviews

4.6 Rating 109 Reviews
We became first-time chicken owners in July with just three chicks. For the first several weeks, our Cream Legbar was by far the sweetest. She would close her eyes as she lay in the palm of your hand, and let you pet her. As she reached her "teenage" weeks though she became super flighty and skittish...almost 180 degree turn from the beginning. She's the only one that we've had to rescue after jumping/flying into the neighbors yard. However, just recently at 23 weeks she was the first one to give us an egg...beautiful light blue. Since she started laying, she has calmed down substantially, and is much more friendly.

My Cream Legbars from My Pet Chicken are the only birds in my flock laying right now in December! The blue eggs are beautiful, and I love their little crests. My Pet Chicken took great care to answer all my (many!) questions regarding the shipping process. You can tell they really want their customers to succeed in caring for chickens! You have a repeat customer here.

Lucy frequently walks around with her crest of feathers upright. This gives her the look of an exotic bird instead of a chicken. She is the smallest of the flock, but plenty feisty and always manages to get her share of treats. Chasing my Yorkies around is her favorite pastime and she loves having something smaller than her, lol. She lays the most beautiful sky blue eggs in the next box, not the yard. Very pleased that Lucy is part of my flock!

My Cream Legbars from My Pet Chicken are the only girls in my flock that are laying in these shorter fall days. My egg basket is so blue and beautiful!

This hen exceeded my expectations with her coloring and her beauty. She is original and just stunning. Her eggs seem kinda green though and I really, really, really wanted really blue so I did subtract a star.

Great bird. Very pretty and is a little skidish. Won't lay in nesting box at all! I find egg nests all over the yard. We've had our flock attacked 3 different times and she always gets away. Sometimes she roosts in trees during the summer. Unfortunately her eggs are almost white though. That was a bummer.

Winona is six months old now and has been laying beautiful small turquoise colored eggs for a couple of weeks. She was extremely flighty at first, but is getting a little braver now. She is at the bottom of the pecking order out of nine, which is probably why she hangs back from the rest of the group. I feel sorry for her, so I try to slip her extra treats. She doesn't seem to realize she was the most expensive one in the bunch! Still, I wouldn't trade her. She is adorable and sweet and her eggs are really gorgeous.
