“Our Light Brahma, Explorer, was named for her repeated escapes from the brooder, and even the box at the post office. (Not that it wasn‚Äôt packaged well, the postmaster had felt bad for the chicks and was trying to get them some fresh air.) Explorer was always the largest chick and is now a giant, bumbling sweetheart. She overheats VERY easily, in fact, she was so hot one day we took her into the basement to cool her down. This upset her greatly, but she forgot her woes when she found a pill bug or two. When the other chickens are cold and shivering, she seems to be thinking ‚ÄúWhy are you guys all so cold? It‚Äôs finally the right temperature!‚Äù She is one of the biggest chickens, but even Bina, a Buff Brahma Bantam, who isn‚Äôt nearly a quarter of Explorer‚Äôs size, bosses her around! Explorer is very sociable with us though, even hopping into our laps and sneaking into the house to eat dog food. She is a very pleasant chicken to have around.”
“This big boy is NOTHING like I was expecting. Gentle, tame, and protective of the standard girls and even my bantam male. Luther-Calvin is an excellent flock guardian:‚Äô)”
“I'm actually about to call MPC for this, but one of the babies has curly toes and I'm trying to figure out how to fix that on her. Other than that, they are super healthy chickens. I'm still giving five stars despite the curly toe issue. I'm raising seven of them for my Mom. They're already flying out of the brooder and they're only two weeks old! But, lets be honest, I just love Brahmas, lol!”
“I got 5 of these, 3 hens, and 2 roos. The roos are by far the most friendly rooster I've ever seen. Both let you pick them up and follow around the yard begging for treats. They also never fight with one another and keep the hens in good order. They get about 2 pounds heavier than your regular roo, I was hoping mine would be like the YouTube video but alas, they arnt that big.The hens however didn't end up laying very good for me, averaging at 3 eggs a week.”
“all my chicks arrived healthy happy but one had pasty butt could not poo we cleaned it but still could not poo. died in its sleep 3 days later:C but all the rest happy healthy happy”
“I love my adult Brahmas so much, I‚Äôve ordered more. My male is a gentle giant. He won‚Äôt let me touch him, but he also has not made an aggressive move towards anyone. My female will sit in my lap and ear out of my hands. The Brahmas and Cochins are very nice birds.”
“She is soooo sweet. The sounds she makes are adorable and she'll even stop for a little loving when I walk by. She lays light brown - sometimes pink eggs. So far 5-6 a week. Highly recommend this breed.”
