“Simply use the velcro strap off your laptop cords and adjust as you go. Its hit or miss some roosters quiet others starve to death I'm super p/o right now I can get a finger under collar next to his neck yet just found him a skeleton from not eating”
“Coconut Ice would allow me to place and adjust this... he hated it. He behaved normal, but he managed to move it and it maybe took his crow down a single decibel, if it did. The quiet time was when he was fighting with it, and then he would commute the constant crowing. I wanted this to be worth the $$, but have to say it was not. I had to re-home our sweetest boy.”
“Just ordered my second collar. The first was an XL for my Buff Brahma Pryia supposed-to-be-hen turned out to be a rooster. R.I.P. Pryia, if it wasn't for the Coyote he'd still be wearing it, but he took one for the team. I guess that was his job. Yeah he was a bit annoyed by it at first but he got used to it. I got punked yet again with another roo in my suburban backyard flock, so I just ordered a size Medium because "Dinner" is an "Easter Egger" and super tiny compared to the big boy. It worked before, so I'm hoping it will work for Dinner too. Also hoping Dinner (8 weeks old now) will be a fearsome protector of my girls. Thinks he's big stuff already, gotta stop that crowing!”
“I have purchased these for a Biefelder, an Easter Egger, and a Maran mix. The collar has to be TIGHT, and does require watching the bird closely to make sure it adjusts okay. It successfully reduces the volume, length, and frequency of crowing on the 3 birds I have used it on. The makers are serious when they say a woman's pinky finger should barely fit between the collar and the bird's neck. I would NOT be comfortable using this on very small breeds like Bantams, the difference between 'tight enough' and 'choked out' may be too small for inexperienced users to get right.”
“I used the collar on my rooster - loose for week, tightened it up a little each week and crow will still louder than I expected, I made the final adjustment on Sunday to where "it was snug on my pinkie" and on Tuesday morning my rooster was gasping, gurgling a bit, so I removed it the collar immediately, but it was too late, he aspirated and died. I check on my chickens at least 5 times per day, and it seemed he was fine, but he wasn't. I'm heartbroken and feel so terrible. I feel like I should have known better. I've since read many other identical stories. There IS a risk of injury and death with this collar. Please be aware.”
“THESE COLLARS KILL !!!!!! Thanks a lot No Crow Collar. We were trying everything....and may have to have had Kai rehomed....but you fixed that because now he is dead. He kicked off his lower little perches - obviously in agony as he suffocated. I haven't told my 11 year old daughter yet as she is still asleep. today is going to be a very bad day. I put the collar on him, so now I will live with that guilt.”
“This product works really well . However 3weeks in and my rooster is now dead .. he was 7 months old ... I notice him struggling .. that day and when we came to adjust it .. he was in panic and was very hard to handle bc it works so well couldn‚Äôt get it off on time . He was so beautiful and well behaved . R.i.p my little chicken”
“This collar works like a charm *if you follow the instructions*. It took us a couple weeks of trial and error to figure out the correct tightness AND placement on the neck. It cuts down on crows until they're basically a nonentity. We had to keep trying different placements and tightness until we got it just right. We learned that you have to place this very low on the neck, and more tight than we were initially comfortable doing.”
