No-Crow Rooster Collar Reviews

I was a bit hesitant at first spending so much on a collar that may or may not work. Some say try plain old velcro, but given how stiff and unforgiving it can be this seemed like a more comfortable option with the mesh. I am very glad I did get one. I have a Buff Orpington roo that was completely unexpected from the local farm store and even though zoning in my area permits roosters our neighbors are rather close and to avoid complaints and keep the peace at 5 am I got him a collar. Took a week to get it just right and now he doesn't even try to crow. First day or 2 was mostly for him to adjust to having something around his neck, after that I gradually tightened it leaving a pinky width of space and hes been quiet ever since. My roo is rather calm when I hold him, but for some it may be easier to find that perfect fit if you have help. Someone to hold and someone to adjust. If I ever get another surprise rooster with my pullets I will definitely be getting him a collar too.

It seems to quiet them down a little and crowing is less frequently. One of my rooster doesn't like it so he decided to keep his crowing to a minimum without the collar. That's probably out of the ordinary. My other 2 sultan roosters took to collars right away. I feel that these collars in order to be the most comfortable for the rooster, should be looked at at least once a month. There necks grow and shrink over time.

I first put the collar on incorrectly and thought this product did not work. I was sad to think I would have to re-home my beloved Wellie roo, who had grown a full-throated opera singer's crow. Then I re-read the instructions and realized I had not put it on him right. Since I made the necessary adjustments, my Wellie no longer makes a sound louder than the girls. He is happy and I contend that he knows he is no longer in danger of being re-homed. The girls will continue to be protected by Wellie, and I am ECSTATIC!

I live in the city and when I ended up with a rooster thought I'd try this collar. Unfortunately the rooster was still pretty loud and he had to go. It's worth a try, don't expect miracles. I suggest you wait before you invest in the pretty bow tie!

Sounded like a great idea, but all it did was make the crowing a higher pitch. The crowing was still just as loud.Tried several times to readjust. Save your money.

My hen turned out to be a roo. My kids loved him but because we live in a suburban area, we couldn't have the crowing. I thought I would have to get rid of him, but we found the collar and it worked its magic! The roo backed up at first and didn't like it, but got used to it within a few hours. I've had it two weeks now, and he makes no more than a gurgle when he tries to crow.
