Baby Chicks: Partridge Cochin Female Reviews

4.5 Rating 34 Reviews
My chicks are 16 weeks old and starting to look like real chickens. Leeroy, my boy, is gorgeous, with rich, gleaming colors and a docile demeanor. Robin and Goose, the girls, are both beautifully marked, with Robin more of a red tone and Goose more chocolatey. Robin is a bold bundle of sass who likes to stare at my dogs and make them nervous, while Goose is a lurker...I cannot get a picture OF Goose, but she appears in nearly every picture I take of my chickens. They make me smile every time I go outside.

D'artagnan is the perfect rooster. When the flock is out in the yard and they see me, they come running over with Dart leading the way. He is very watchful of his girls and always looks up when he hears a strange bird. He is very tolerant of my two Yorkies and lets them come up and stand right in front of him. He looks and acts more like a fluffy dog who enjoys treats and head rubs. His feathers are lovely and he is super quiet. I've never heard him crow, but he can get very chatty, especially when he thinks he'll get a treat. I was hesitant about getting a rooster, but getting a Cochin was a great choice!
