“She was the littlest chick in the box, and she grew a little slowly the first few weeks but she definitely didn’t stay little! She is a chunk and definitely the widest hen in our flock lol! She’s very cute. She definitely outweighs our other dual purpose and layer breeds, but luckily for everyone else she doesn’t throw her weight around. Because she is such a chunk, I worried about her in the heat, but so far she is handling summer in Arizona surprisingly well. She is mid to top of the pecking order, and went through a short period of slightly more pushy behavior with her flock mates the week she started laying (20 weeks old), but that didn’t last. Easy going is definitely her default. She doesn’t particularly like being picked up, but she is overall very easy to handle and not aloof or skittish. Plus, this breed is beautiful!”

“I’m only listing three stars because only one of the three chicks of this variety survived past the third day? That being said, it could’ve totally been a fluke on my end! I love sourcing my chicks from this company. But all the other chicks are fine, they were all put under two mamas the first night and shipped in one day which really set them up for success. Just thought it was odd how it was the same variety who died, and I saw with the second one she seemed a little out of it the day before she died. Wanted to report it in case others have experienced this, would love company feedback if it’s just me. :) Overall 5 stars for the company though!”

“Of all the chicks we received from My Pet Chicken, our little Silver laced Wyandotte is the most rambunctious! She is so funny and so amazing to be around - I’ve never had a chick be so playful! She will chase our hands and consistently comes out of the brooder first to hop into our hand and fall asleep, then wake up and run around the room flapping her little wings. She’s so unique and while the other chicks are certainly growing into their own personalities, Sequoia the SLW has been really confident from the very beginning.
