“My girls Clara and Amelia came into lay about 30 weeks and 32 weeks respectively. They lay pale sky blue eggs and are very friendly girls who love to be held and petted. Amelia has a single comb and we were worried she might have been a rooster, but her first egg dispelled that concern. Contrary to our expectations (since the disclaimer says single comb hens will not lay a blue egg), she is actually laying a blue egg identical to Clara's. Both are great birds. Genetics are funny.”

“I not complaining, but warning others about this particular breed. When I purchased this breed in May of 2023 at the time they were called "Super Blue Eggers" and I paid $49.99 for a bird that I thought hey if they are calling it a Super Blue Egger she must be awesome and no doubt will be a good blue layer.
My hens from May are now laying and discovered she is laying WHITE eggs! I did contact my pet chicken yesterday and was told there is a 1/15 or 1/16 chance they will lay white eggs. My biggest actual problem is I paid $49.99 for her and the best they could do was give me $10.00 back to use on another order. I've ordered several times from them and will continue, but wanted to warn people about this.

Denise, we are incredibly sorry that your Bountiful Blue does not lay blue eggs. With hybrid breeds such as this, there is always that chance, and we do discuss this in the description. If you want birds that will always be true to their egg color, it is best to order APA-recognized chicken breeds.
