“I’ve been using this for 6 weeks for my 3 new chicks, and I’m so happy with it! I would only suggest two small changes: continue the green fabric onto the roll up door, and add a power cord port like tents often have for a heater plate. Otherwise, it contains the mess, they have tons of space and are able to see out and get used to being around us and our dog, but are safe! Would absolutely recommend!”
Thank you for your review of the pop up brooder! Speaking for myself and many other customers, the pop up brooder has been a BIG game changer for brooding chicks! (We will never go back to rubber tubs!) What many people do is use the zipper on the side door to slip the cord through along the bottom, using the top for picking up the chicks and cleaning. Maybe that will work for you?!

“My initial rating was going to be very low until I received some very useful support from the customer service team (shout out to Ana). The brooder is very sturdy and the material is very rugged, it's really spacious and will fit the medium sized heater plate easily. Where the trouble came was in folding it up...what a PITA. The videos I found on line featured an older version made with thinner materials and thus much easier to fold as shown in the video. However, this brooder has thicker material and as I tried to fold it, the thin metal frames were bending and deforming (there are thick and thin metal frames) in ways that were NOT GOOD. After trying so many times I was afraid the metal would snap, I finally gave up. Out of desperation, I contacted customer service and received such a thorough and helpful response that actually helped solve the issue.
This is the key difference between the old brooder and the new brooder: the bottom should NOT be folded into the brooder but AWAY from it, eliminating any fabric inside the brooder. Once the panels are folded together, straighten the excess fabric and fold it toward the panel and tuck it into the elastic band. Problem solved. I hope this helps someone else!”

We have to agree the Pop-Up Brooder is such a game changer when it comes to raising chicks - and for other purposes as well! Many have used it for raising other animal babies too. It is so very easy to "pop-up", is durable, easy to clean and put away until it is needed again - it really is a great investment! “This is a great brooder for chickens and young waterfowl. It’s great quality and having a cover that zips to protect them is great. It kept two black snakes that got into my garage away from my chicks:. It works well for young ducks and geese, but as the geese get older, they will tear it up. I
just ordered a second one for my shipment of bantams coming in a couple weeks. The previous one has fallen victim to my last set of geese lol!”
