Anything else? and the music
Living in a Containerized Housing Unit (CHU) at the U.S. Embassy in Juba makes sleep a rare commodity. Between the constant vigilance for "duck and cover" alarms and the psychological weight of being on edge, rest is often fragmented. I noticed a recurring pattern: I’d wake up between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM, whether due to age or stress, I’m not sure, and immediately reach for my iPhone. Since Juba is eight hours ahead of my family in Santa Fe, there was almost always a notification waiting for me. One message could easily lead down a rabbit hole, and suddenly it would be 4:00 AM with a 5:30 AM wake-up call looming. To break this cycle, I replaced my phone with a beautiful analog One Clock. It’s more than just a functional tool; its design brings a sense of "analog simplicity" and aesthetic calm to my room that a standard "Big Ben" clock never could. Now, my iPhones charge in another room overnight. The change has been noticeable. I wake up to a different surprise track of music every morning, often lying still for a minute just to listen. Best of all, I am finally sleeping through the night, something that hasn't happened in a very long time. I attribute this newfound peace entirely to removing the digital distractions and surrounding myself with a piece of work that feels truly special.

I find it very challenging to set the alarm. It's not easy to use the dial or to get it to stay in place (it pops back if I don't do it right and then I have to do it all over again). And I am also not a fan of setting the time every night and going through the process every time. I wish it was a 12 hour clock so I could pick a time and leave it and only change it if the morning schedule changes. I absolutely love the look and the design and the simplicity but this one feature prevents me from using it unfortunately (and it was very expensive). :( I am not posting a negative review anywhere but wanted to let you know since you read these personally.

I’m disappointed. So far the alarm function has not worked! Setting it is not super intuitive and our clock seems to not be working correctly.

What do you love most about your OneClock? No connectivity, The Design
I wanted a quiet corded alarm clock so I could stop using my smart phone as an alarm and the OneClock fits the bill. The clock face is well designed and the right size. I especially like the night light which is just bright enough so I can see the time without waking up my wife. It took some practice to learn how to adjust the time and alarm but I had no problems after one or two tries. The music is very nice and varied but I'm still trying to figure out the right volume. I typically wake up before the alarm goes off so I can't comment on the waking experience but I feel confident that the alarm will wake me.

Anything else? I own a daycare service and I played the music for the kids. They were mesmerized. I think a version of this would make a great sleep inducer at naptime. My cat loved it, too, and stretched out her arms to be rubbed.
I can’t stand the scare alarms so I start waking up two hours before I need to get up and checking the time. So my sleep is often fitful.

I bought the OneClock to get my phone out of my bedroom. I use the alarm as a failsafe--the goal is to wake without an alarm. But even when I get up before it goes off, I leave it on, because it's nice to hear the music go on (unlike a normal alarm). The music feels like the movie score to a morning of significance and wonder. I enjoy imagining what the artist was thinking when they composed the music. Altogether a better way to start the day, thinking about art and the day's potential. I also, frankly, love the lack of choice. I love that it doesn't do anything else but play music to wake up to and that there's so little to program. A salve for decision fatigue.
