The Design

And it won't become obsolete tech??? --> OneClock to rule them all.. OneClock to find them. OneClock to wake them all, and in the darkness wind them.
“Why:
I bought OneClock because I was using my phone as my alarm while running my own (international) business, and every morning as I would go to turn my alarm off I was seeing an average of 250 notifications -- first thing my eyes would see. I did this for years, only eventually coming to realize, with help, that this set myself up for a day without any peace. Every morning became a race to catch up, where one team member would fall asleep another would wake up, so any of the times I did actually get to bed, it was only for a 4-5 hours at a time and always with an inevitable knowing that I would wake to an immediate press. Something had to give, and I realized I needed to get my phone out of the bedroom and find an alternative, analog-style wake alarm that did not offer any routes for the internet to get to me. In this regard, OneClock seemed and seems to have no competitor in its class.
First interactions, & the Call to Action:
It has improved my sleep, once I made a few adjustments to my own sleep routine and hygiene. At first, after having set it up, and with my typical sleep routine of 4-5 hours, I had wondered if its alarm was actually working. I would wake up far later, late for things. So I brought my phone back in and set the same alarm + a few extra. The first woke me up, just as I was hearing the OneClock alarm sounding. I realized that prior to this I was just sleeping straight through the alarm. So I turned OneClock's volume all the way up and did away with the phone again. Next 3-4 mornings: I woke up to OneClock's transcendent, ambient sounds, and then would immediately roll over and sleep for another 3-4 hours. It was simply so lullaby-y that I just fell right back into a peaceful sleep to the point of what I actually needed to sleep to. Not great for those days' task lists. But...
Shifts:
I began realizing that OneClock was trending me in a direction of two points:
1. I don't know how, but it has come to seem as if this inanimate, analog object has been hushedly encouraging me to improve my sleep hygiene on a holistic level. The past 2-3 nights I've been in bed by 9:30pm (formerly 4am-ish), which means I am improving my sleep practices in a way to where I am getting a full REM sleep. I am sleeping long but this feels like catch up. These going-to-beds-early aren't forced. I'm 35 and I'm (deservedly) tired by 9pm, and I'm allowing my self to go to bed. This leads me to believe that..
2. My perspective on the concept of "mornings" is changing -- where for going on 6 years years they've been either nonexistent (because of working all-nighters) or dreaded (because I'm not working all-nighters), my arrival to them recently could be said to be "clear" or "clean". I have reinitiated my sitting practice. I make my morning smoothies in a sense of serenity. I am doing my stretches and PT at the same time each day. My morning routines are performed in earnest; they aren't hurried, or done haphazardly. With OneClock I've regained my ability to *choose* the moment I look at work; and the wildest part is, because I'm arriving to it with a better rested mind and body, it's all still getting done because I'm more efficient. Additionally, I'm not resentful when I sit down to my work, as it hasn't stolen my morning from me. More -- the same could be said for my relationship to "night": besides the fact that it's almost by magic that its ambient peace-to-come (thank you Jon Natchez) is hypnotizing me to go to bed earlier. I'm also reading again, I'm resting in complete darkness when I put the book down. I'm comforted by this clock. It's almost odd in the way it feels like it protects me.
Appeal to Context:
Sure, there are many other moving parts to my successes of shifting my relationship to sleep and waking and mornings. It's not *just* the alarm clock; I have worked hard and primed for this kind of return to health. But OneClock is no doubt an essential tool in the mix of this success and I am confident in this success's longevity. It's now a staple for life.
Summary:
For all these reasons, I'm actively advocating this tool to my friends. So, to sum up
OneClock, for me, is an essential Life Tool, that forces you to confront your poor sleep hygiene and pratices head on (just look at Jamie's quote, "snoozers are for losers"). It won't work for you if you aren't willing to change; if you are, it will lead you to a better, healthier life. You have to put in some work; it's not just: "I keep living the same way and all the sudden I'm better." If you allow it--and I encourage you that you do--OneClock will lead you to a better, healthier life. It has changed my life far more than how I'm woken up; it's changing my conceptual relationships to rest, to night, to work, to mornings, etc.”

The Wake Up
Anything else?
I love all of the wake up sounds! I’m obsessed with the clarinet sounds and would love more variations and options like that, and potentially the ability to hand select my own set of wake up sounds.
“I bought OneClock because I was constantly tied to my iPhone, especially in moments of down time like waking up or going to sleep. I would spend an hour or two mindlessly browsing on my phone before turning the lights off, and then lay there for a couple hours as my mind tried to turn itself off. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. When it didn’t, I picked my phone back up again and mindlessly browsed for hours in the middle of the night. And then when it was time to wake up, the first thing I did was grab my phone. The result was that I always felt tired and unfocused throughout the day. So, I decided to make a change. I no longer allow my phone in the bedroom, and after researching different clocks, I picked out OneClock for its smooth wake up music, minimal tech integration, quality of build and sleek design. I love it! I’m finally reading books again as a new activity before bed, and I can feel my body and mind winding down. I sleep through the night and, when I wake up, it’s a calming, restorative experience that sets me up the right way for the day. I’d highly recommend OneClock plus these routine changes for everybody, insomnia or not. You’ll see the changes right away and you’ll love it!”

The Wake Up
“I invested in OneClock as an important component to help improve my sleep quality and routine. Until I got it, I had been using my smartphone as an alarm clock. I decided to remove all digital devices from my bedroom entirely, including my phone, so that my bedroom would just be a place for rest. I also stop screen time one hour before bedtime. I made my room darker and cooler. I started waking up at a consistent time each day, 5am, and to pray, meditate, read, journal, ground, and exercise outside in the morning sun. It was important for me to have a clock with an analog clock, that gave off no light, that had beautiful music, that began with a very low volume and gradually increased, that was high quality, and that did not have a snooze option, and that was easy to use once set up. OneClock has been perfect. I am not lying when I say that waking up has become a very pleasant experience. It was never this way for me in the past. The music is very soothing. I love the moment I wake up each morning - the moment I consciously transition from sleep to noticing beautiful music, faint at first and gradually increasing in volume. I like that the song is random each morning. I look forward to waking up again the next day to such a beautiful experience. I am not exaggerating. This is my actual experience. And I am surprised about it. The other measures I have taken obviously contribute to my pleasant mornings and improved sleep, but OneClock is definitely a quality component. I am learning from experience that investing in the quality of one's sleep and morning routine goes a long way to improve health and a sense of well-being.”
“My blood pressure has gone down considerably and i start my days in a much better mood! Especially with the wife not complaining about my old alarm clock going off every morning (never again!)”

No connectivity, The Wake Up, The Design, The Music
“My husband and I shopped endlessly for a low-tech alarm clock that could help us separate our phones from our sleeping experience. We didn't want a traditional one with the shrill alarm, but we didn't want a high-tech one that connected to your phone and had nicer alarm sound options. So when we found OneClock, we knew it was the one! It looks beautiful, the music is beautiful, and it does one thing exceptionally well - wakes us up happily.”

I like that it is quiet and dark. I also really the mechanism of setting time and alarm on the clock is very cool.
“I really hoped for a simple alarm clock that did not glow at night and did not tick.
This does the trick.
My only complaint, and it is a very minor one, is it is a little larger than I expected. It takes up quite a bit of space on my nightstand. Otherwise, I am very happy with my purchase.”
