Addiction MEGA Complete & Balanced Lamb & Beef Dry Dog Food 20KG Reviews

4.7 Rating 181 Reviews
I am halfway through our first bag of Addiction Mega Grain Free Large Size Dog Kibble and so far so good. My two young boxers only have it for their morning meal and they have raw in the evening. They both seem to like it and appear to be doing well. I can now hear them crunching the kibble rather than inhaling it. My only gripe is that with such a large bag of food I would have expected the bag to be resealable to keep it as fresh as possible. Not a big thing to expect really.

My dog loves them - they're big enough that I break them up into smaller pieces, and use them for treats when training. They are also the perfect size for her Kong feeder, don't fall out too easily, but don't get stuck either, which gives her a nice challenge to get her food. Also cheaper than the last couple of brands of kibble we bought, and being grain free was important to us.

I was put onto Mega Addiction by a friend, when looking to change kibble for my Greyhound, as he wasn't keen on what he was eating and his coat was in poor condition . Merlin loves this, and his coat looks and feels amazing, MUCH better than when he was on Nutrience. People are always remarking on his great condition. Grain free, full of great things an NZ made, are all major bonus's . I even contacted Addiction to ask about the quality of the meat used in their products. The staff were very helpful an friendly gave me all the info I wanted . PLUS Addiction sponsor The HUHA animal rescue in NZ .

I usually get Orijen or Acana for our two Labradors. Both have been fantastic. Recently Orijen hiked their prices so decided to go with the kiwi brand Addiction which offers better value for money. Within a week of feeding Mega to our labs I noticed their coats getting a dusty look, and one got dry skin (something she's never had before and she's 4 ). I've had to conclude its the food that's caused it. Its a shame as I had hoped the grain free NZ dry food would do the trick, but I'll be going back to the more expensive Acana/Orijen next order. The labs liked the Mega, but then Labs pretty much like anything!

My Boxer is very fussy to the point where I use to have to put gravy/yoghurt on his old food for him to eat it, He has been on this food for nearly a year and has never turned down a bowl. Also over the moon about the ingredients, as many dog foods are full of fillers and other nastys. This dog food has great ingredients.

Have changed from using Origen to Addiction for our standard poodle he does enjoy the kibble but it makes him constipated would you advise an addition of oil ?

Was feeding him eukanuba boxer breed but he wasn't really a fan. Feel a lot better feeding him food that is natural with no added nasties.

Excellent quality and best value for money when you work out how price per kilo and when you take into account feeding less as the higher quality food they don't need as much to be full. While some people may be put off by the large kibble (about the size of a 50c piece) it has been a plus as the dog has to chew as opposed to swallowing whole. I have a jack russell and a rhodesian ridgeback and one of these bags will last 7 - 8 weeks as they only get fed in the evening. An excellent all round food and find my dogs don't need anything else.
