Can I ask how much product you used?
Can i ask how big the couch is you were treating?
Can i also ask what sort of material the couch is?
Is the weave of the fabric tight or loose?
For most standard upholstery and fabric surfaces we recommend using 100ml per square meter (M2). If the material treated is a heavy/tick material, like a rug or a carpet, we recommend applying a second coat with an additional 100ml per M2 within 30 minutes. Some materials that are very absorbent will need a second coat aswell.
The way protectME works is it coats each individual fibre. If the weave of the fabric is very close together (tight), then using protectME can create a water repellant barrier but if the weave is quite far apart (loose) then some water can still penetrate through the material as it is breathable.
Even though liquids can sometimes penetrate the material, it will be much easier to clean with steam cleaning or with standard spot treatments.
