Have you used the entire 5L?
How big is your couch?
Have you treated the whole couch? (back, sides, both sides of the backing cushions and both sides of the seated cushions?
For most standard upholstery and fabric surfaces and rugs we recommend using 100ml per square meter (M2). This would mean that a 5L bottle would cover 50M2.
If the material treated is a heavy/thick or absorbent material, we recommend applying a second coat with an additional 100ml per M2 within 30 minutes.
The way protectME works is it coats each individual fibre. If the weave of the fabric is very close together (tight), then using protectME can create a water repellant barrier but if the weave is quite far apart (loose) then some water can still penetrate through the material as it is breathable but it will protect the fibres from staining and absorbing the liquid for easier cleaning.
