Have you tried cleaning the stains off the shoes with anything?
protectME is primarily intended to repel liquid stains. It will certainly help when cleaning dirt marks but we can’t guarantee that there will be no marks left. This is especially true when force is applied onto the fabric, i.e. fingers smudging chocolate.
The way protectME works is by coating each individual fibre with a clear, breathable coating.
You can wash the fabric up to 30 washes before you will need to reapply the coating and you can steam clean the fabric as it can withstand temperatures of up to 250 degrees celsius.
You can also use any off the shelf spot treatments to clean any marks and protectME can withstand any pH levels between 2-13 which most spot treatments are. As the shoes have been protected with protectME, the stains will lift much easier.
