This was my first Robot Mower experience and was obviously sceptical. I researched a fair bit and the big brands were just to expensive to ‘try’. What a pleasant surprise. Moebot was super easy to install. Its been keeping my lawn manicured with very little effort from my side. Will definitely recommend!!!

After three weeks, I am really satisfied. Simple to use and it does a good job. the grass is always short and nicely cut. The robot, once set up correctly, never had a problem returning to the base after the work was completed. Happy customer!!!

I bought a Moebot S20 because I have an 1800 square metre garden, mostly grass and shrubs, and I'm 62. During summer when the grass needs mowing the most, it's quite hot here (26 to 29 degrees celsius) so mowing is getting quite taxing for me. Here is what I experienced. A new ride-on mower would have cost me $3300 to $7000 and I still would have spent hours mowing every week, albeit it sitting on the ride-on rather than walking. Mower services up here tend to cost $100 to $150 a week over summer, so about $2600 a year. On special at $1200, the Moebot from Robot My Life seemed the cheapest option, and it comes with a 2 year warranty. First, the large box arrived and sat in the hallway over Christmas because I was busy and it was daunting. I'm not mechanical. Second, I hired a couple of backpackers to thoroughly mow and rake my yard down to 5cm neatness, with the clippings removed. I figured that would be necessary, and I was right. The whole set-up process was much, much, easier with the prep work done. Third, I thought the Moebot would go up against my house wall under the eaves. No. It requires a metre in front and 30cm behind of straight wire, so I had to buy an outdoor extension cord and waterproof coupling cover, about $70. So it sits out in the rain. I should think they would sell it with a cover, but that is an aftermarket accessory with the S5 and S10. I'm not sure they sell them for the S20, I'm going to ring them today and check. I think the cover is about $200. The unit is supposed to be waterproof, but have Moebot MET Queensland? Also we get large hail here occasionally. Setting out the boundary wire was hot work and involved a lot of bending down. All up the setup took me two hours (about an hour figuring out how to set up the base station and reading the book, and an hour of setting out the wire. Things that I learnt: The wire needs to be tight and as straight as possible, so it hugs the ground closely and the Moebot doesn't actually mow the wire itself! I considered the recommended option of burying it but decided it would be easier to move the boundary or find faults in future if the wire was above ground. The Moebot runs along the wire line straddling it when it first establishes the boundary. Later when it mows, it quite often crosses halfway over the line before it detects the line and backs up. That's why your line needs to be straight and pegged down thoroughly, and you need to leave about half the Moebot width outside your wire at your boundary. The wiring is not complicated and is well explained in the booklet. In the midday sun I had zero hope of reading the unfamiliar LED screen. I gave up on the first day because of this (and it started raining). At that stage I had persuaded my Moebot to do everything except actually cut grass. I wondered if the cutting drive motor was missing or if the blades needed to be tightened. Day two, the grass had mostly dried out and it was cloudy, so I could read the LED screen. I went out armed with the instruction book. I discovered that the blades under the machine were (a) sharp on both edges (ouch!) and (b) free-wheeling. A quick check of the booklet revealed that they are supposed to be free-wheeling. So why wasn't it cutting? Troubleshooting in the booklet didn't reveal anything. Maybe the blades were set too high? I couldn't find a way to get the LED screen let me set the cutting height. Then I discovered that the OTHER hinged cover on the top of the Moebot, which was quite stiff to open, revealed a simple manual dial which set the cutting blade height. I lowered the cutting height to 2.5cm and the Moebot went to town, buzzing away happily and leaving lovely cut random lines through my lawn. Too random for my slightly OCD brain so I came inside to avoid looking at it LOL. I now have to figure out my Moebot's schedule to fit in with pooper scooping the yard and bring the dog inside when it's mowing. I don't trust the dog not to eat the Moebot. She ate an angle grinder once. She's half cattle dog. But I have to say, while I'm sitting here inside in the cool writing this review, the Moebot is outside working hard doing its random thing and I don't have to lift a finger to mow my lawn. I could get used to this.

I was very pleased to find the installation simple and easy, round corners, no problem, well for me it made sense once I saw Moe in action. I have a "lumpy" ground level due to my yard settling or !!!, Moe has handles it with ease. I'll need to relay the perimeter cable as it's leaving a little too much uncut grass for my liking, the recommended 30cm template is generous but that's me, and bury it underground as recommended. Have to say it's not been an issue but I can see where it might be in the future if the grass raises it as it grows so definitely a good recommendation to follow. While it is weatherproof and again recommended to protect it in heavy downfall, I would like to have seen the shelter sold as the default docking station and the un-sheltered docking station as the accessory. With multiple areas I will be looking for additional docking stations so I'm pleased to see that they can be purchased separately and that all the Moebot accessories are a one-size-fits-all. I do like my Moebot, does a good job and has cut my manual mowing yard time down by 75% plus as it is replacing my 30-year-old push mower which has served me well my replacement cost was similar, hope it lasts as long!!!!

I bought this for my husband who hates mowing. When it works it's great but it has cut the boundary line a number of times which is really fiddly to fix. We followed instructions to a tee...hopefully once we figure out what we've done wrong with the line placement it will work the way it should. I love the app for programming.

Amazing! Easy to set up and was cutting the grass in no time. Lawn is around 150SQM with a slope. Mower had no problem cutting and the finish is amazing. Installing boundary cables is easy. Just make sure it is tight and as close to the ground as you can get. With springy kaikyu the mower caught the cable on the first run so I had to splice the cable back together. Not a problem as everything is supplied to repair. Once settled down, no problem at all. Highly recomended !!!
