I purchased this new radio because it matched all my friends. I did have a previous version. While working with RR we figured out it had a problem so we decided to just replace the radio. I’m still having an issue another issue I also had previously. I haven’t had a chance to start diagnosing yet.

Hi Martin, My name is Andrew. I worked with your personally on the radio swap. If you are continuing to have issues, best thing to do is start inspecting your cables. Making sure all connections are seated properly and in the correct ports. Check that your coax cable is routed separately from other cables that carry power, along with antenna mounting and placement as well. Feel free to contact me directly so we can discuss and troubleshoot! 805-810-9246/Andrew@ruggedradios.com

Seems to be a quality product, but I haven't tried it on the trails yet. The instructions say to connect directly to battery (i guess to reduce noise), and I used a relay in that connection so I wouldn't drain my battery should I forget to turn the radio off.

I purchased this radio with high hopes and very little to no reviews. The gmr25 display is very clear and the volume/channel select knobs feel very nice with good feedback. Unfortunately the menu is lacking basic gmrs radio setting. First issue is that the radio is stuck on +5mhz for all repeater channels. Second issue is there is no 0hz setting for the pl tone in or out. Lastly once you get a repeater programmed into the radio there is no was to save that channel as a new channel.

Hi Michael, Thank you for sharing your feedback on the GMR25 radio. We’re glad to hear you appreciate the clear display and the quality of the knobs, as these features are designed with user experience in mind. While it’s true that the radio’s onboard interface does not allow saving a programmed repeater as a new channel, this functionality is available through RT Systems programming software. This software provides an expanded set of options, including advanced channel management and custom settings, offering greater flexibility for users. We appreciate your honest review and take your input seriously as we work to improve our products. If you have any questions or need support with programming, please don’t hesitate to reach out. 888-541-7223 https://www.rtsystemsinc.com/RRS-GMR25-Programming-Software-and-USB-32-cable-for-the-GMR25-from-Rugged-Radios_p_2000.html

Overall great Radio! Output power is good and the radio performs. I have been using this for a few years and love the size and convienienc of the radio. The readout is easy to see with a speaker that sounds good and has adequate volume. I recently purchaced my GMRS licence to gain access to repeters. Though i have found a few flaws in the programing. Raffy in tecnical support has been nothing but great to work with and overly accomidating to remedy it to say the least. RT Systems works great for programing and custimizing channels - a must in high use ares. Rugged Radios has been a great addition to staying in touch with our riders and coaches on the trail or at the Races.

Great, small radio! I needed something to fill the bill for a GMRS and I wanted more than a hand held. This was the perfect size, love the power rating. My only thought for Rugged is to make the brightness of the display adjustable. It's seriouly bright in the cab at night.
