Hi Rick, I see that you mentioned in a chat that you are using a Motorola XPR 3500e radio with our headset. Generally speaking, quite a few Motorola units require an electret mic, while our radios utilize a dynamic mic like your headset came with. If you are still unable to transmit we must look into the cable you are using to connect the equipment. I am happy to assist with that process. Feel free to contact me at Andrew@ruggedradios.com or 805-810-9245.

Mic went bad and service replaced free of charge. I had it for like two weekds after 1 year and warranty ran out. They replaced and did not charge. We have 10 of the headset and lookingto buy more. I will be buying more from ragged radios.

Spoke to a tech and asked what I needed, was told to buy an item that will not work with my equipment. When I spoke to tech about why what I bought didn't work, they told me I had to buy a different one. No concern that "they" told me to buy the wrong item.

Had to shout to be barely heard with the stock (DM-21) dynamic mic with Baofeng-type radios. Wrote to Rugged radios tech support and "Raffy" replied to get this part. The Adjustable gain Mic worked great with Radioddity GD-88 DMR radio as well as with Baofeng uv-5r type radios. It was easy to replace, but you will need a very tiny phillips screwdriver to change it. I would like to point out three things: 1.) Baofeng, Radioddity, Kenwood and others require this mic. It would be nice to have an option to purchase an H41 headset with this mic as being an option. List is as "For use with Baofeng UV-5R type radios" and most every ham radio folks will know exactly what to get. 2.) Be nice to bundle this headset with the K-plug adapter cord. 3.) The foam that came on the DM-21 mic does not fit over the larger Electret mic. The Electret mic is larger.

The mic worked fine, but did not resolve a problem I was having, so returned it.

My radio finally works with VOX. I can only assume that the microphone that came on my headset was noise cancelling and my radio settings were not sensitive enough to key up when I spoke. Now it does so I can communicate with my spotter when rock crawling and keep my hands on the important stuff.
