What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? Great student engagement. The objects created loads of discussion and lots of questions. Many children used these opportunities to talk about their own family members who had been to war etc.
An awesome kit! Loads of engagement with the different objects and a very good supporting website. I have a Year 4 class who found the content/reading a little challenging but understand that the kit was designed for Year 5 and above. Scaffolded them through and they were able to create a collaborative slideshow about a number of the people who owned the objects. Loads of great discussion was had!

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? This box allowed students to get as engaged and involved as they wanted to which was great for differentiation in my very mixed ability yr11 history class. Some girls dived right in and explored all the tasks on their object and more - going off on huge (
This was a great box to spark interest in our new WW1/Gallipoli topic. There was so much great info and the girls enjoyed a work-at-your-own-pace task after a busy period of internals. The posters are fantastic and I will continue to refer to these throughout our topic and in the future. At times, the website was a bit clunky to use and some girls did their own research on the items rather than following the guides on the page but I loved as a teacher, that it was a one stop shop!

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? We did it as our lead up to ANZAC Day and the artefacts gave us great discussion starters. It is much better to be able to touch the artefacts, rather than just looking at pictures of them. We have added some other things to the box.
What a great time we had using this box and discovering the stories within it. My year 4's found it hard to connect up the people with the artefacts, but gave it a good go. They loved being able to touch the artefacts and knowing they were from actual real people made it authentic and made them think more seriously about it all.

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? Students were very engaged with the materials in this kit, in particular our boys who really loved learning about WW1 and loved having materials and resources that they could get hands on with.
Our students loved the WW100 kit as there were so many intriguing things to look at, learn about and explore. They spent so much time reading the material, discussing the articles and looking through the photos. It was such a valuable learning experience for our students and they really engaged with the topic. May of them discovered things they didn't know or things they wanted to learn about. A fantastic resource for any classroom!

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? Students engaged as they connected with the people.
Good resources that focused on the real life experiences of those involved. Gave students some empathy toward these men and made the work a little more real.

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? They were trying to put themselves in the place of the soldiers and what it would be like if their 16 - 18 year old brother were to go to war. The students liked researching the objects and using some of those objects in the artworks.
A wonderful resource that students found interesting. Students wanted to know more about the people in the photos and the past.

We LOVED using the walking with the ANZAC kit sent out. This was a powerful discussion and writing tool that we used on and off through our inquiry learning. Huge appreciation to the time and effort into putting such a high quality kit together. Will definitely be using the website for further discussion in the future.

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? They enjoyed finding out the little details about their soldier and their background. It kept the boys well engaged for the period and they did follow up on their soldiers using the cenotaph database. We also went to the Auckland museum to see Scars on th
Used with Y12 students who were fully engaged and enjoyed finding out about a WWI soldier. Thanks for this possibility.
