Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The whole kit as it set a scene. We are also a dairy community so the children could relate.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? I feel the students will remember this activity.

“My children did this activity during what we call 'explore time' where our children get to choose an activity amongst several classrooms. The children have choices such as art, crafts, woodworking, STEM, etc... I had this activity in my classroom and when the children saw it they were very excited and got stuck in straight away putting the pieces together and then having some imaginary play.”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them There are lots of different tractors on this farm. I'm putting all the fruit into this basket.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The small parts of fruit and baskets as these were easy for the children to utilize

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? The children often return to this lego constructing farm scenes using the pieces. The vehicles were very hard for them to make.

“The Farm bricks set is an excellent set of lego. I teach in a Year 1 class. The children were extremely enthusiastic to receive the kit. We worked on constructing one part of the farm at a time. The instructions for following the kit are very detailed. Some children were able to follow the instructions and put the buildings together. The children go the most out of the kit when they were able to construct using the lego without direct instructions.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Having small kits where they needed to follow instructions and work alongside others.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? That lego (bricks) is more than just building something by myself. That you can work with others to create a bigger picture

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Being able to build the farm and pack the veges and put on the truck. Hands on is always better than watching a video

“The students loved this kit. We used it to learn where food comes from and that led to a whole term of learning about machines. The children continue to use the Lego in their play-based learning. We did not play the game supplied but created our own discussions.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Making the connection between farms and growing food and the role that they play in our everyday lives. Making connections between farm to supermarket to table.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? We still have the Lego in the classroom with the kit resources that can be used for years to come.

“Our new entrant akonga loved playing and teaching each other the games from the kit and provided them with hours of fun on the learning stations. We had many class discussions, unpacking and developing oral language. We also used this kit to support our tamariki with higher needs in smaller groups. Such a wonderful resource that can be used by all.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? How realistic each piece was. One student described it as a 'jigsaw puzzle' and a 'bridge' from make believe to their 'real life'.
