What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? An acceptance for each other and what they bring to the classroom. Lots of discussions that has lead to improved relationships.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? The display of student work complemented our PB4L wall. The students are showing respect for each other and have begun to ask thoughtful questions about each others cultures which was instigated through the family wheels.
Doing this as an MLE helped our students to form honest and open relationships which has led to some insightful discussions. The culture of the classroom was enhanced b through the activities in this unit. We loved this!

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? I used the action plan as a guide for my own practice and also spoke with the students about the steps.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? My year 3/4 students now compliment each other in meaningful ways (without complimenting on looks or appearance) and this has been really valuable learning for them. The pictionary game challenged some of their stereotypes and we had lots of in depth conv
I found this kit linked in really well with our school anti-bullying programme and our school values. My students really enjoyed the activities and the plan was easy to follow. My class loved working through the kit and they were really motivated and enjoyed the range of activities.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? Lots of great discussions about the statement cards and activities on giving compliments, drawing ";perceived"; ideas of people from the cards. However there are also perceptions of what ";maori"; or 'asian"; means, what people from these cultures say an
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? More compliments, thinking about who the person they are speaking to is, and how they will react. Tuakan /teina relationships. Focus on our values!
Unfortunately I have not done alot of the activities in the kit, but plan on continuing through next year with various activities. I have filled out some of the journal activities. Being Māori many of the facts, comments, reflections hit home. Racism is definitely still alive in New Zealand, though much of it is ";hidden";. Things as simple as the many negative comments about Taranaki Maunga now being the official name of our beautiful maunga ! I have completed a few activities with the children and had great feedback from them. We have 25% maori at our kura, plus 5 children of chinese descent. We are building culturally proactive practices in our class, developing tuakana teina relationships, acknowledging our own and others cultures.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? The action plan has complemented what I already teach my students about inclusion, respect, values, differences and co-operation. By asking the students to actively talk about each and every issue raised in the booklet we have been more inclusive and more
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? The awareness and understanding of the different cultures and the needs and expectations of each of these has been apparent in the way the students understand each other. I do not tolerate racism of any kind and this kit reinforced that at every level. Th
This year I have spent a lot of time talking through with my year 7's the importance of inclusivity, respect and awareness of each other, our cultures, differences etc. This kit brought that all together for us and provided so many opportunities to encourage further development within these issues. My students are developing their understanding of the world of people around them through concrete activities. We have thoroughly enjoyed our kits this year.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? This got students thinking further on these issues- it morphed into an inquiry into the Land wars and it was amazing to see where the students took this.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? This is still ongoing. The kit was a good way of introducing difficult conversations which has made students more willing to express their opinions and listen to others point of view
Another great kit from School Kit. I think it was great how it included material that challenged my thinking. We have used bits and pieces from the kit but the impact was great with some very thoughtful and challenging discussions from students.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? To be honest - we didn't get this far with the kit but I would like to use it again in 2020 to do something like this. I felt that some of the stuff was a little bit ";too young"; for the Year 9s BUT I used the concepts of the kit.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? I cannot answer this honestly because I did not use it totally in the way that was intended.
This kit was aimed at Year 7-8 and I used parts of it with a Year 9 class. I did not use the whole kit as I was running out of time with other topics and it seemed like something that I would use more at the start of the year with a class. I initially got the kit to use with some of our learners who struggle with the level in a Year 9 classroom but I immediately saw that it really needed to be applied to the whole class.
