I found this kit very useful especially after the attacks in chch. I have a very diverse range of cultures and learners in my classroom and it was helpful to delve deeper and create a better understanding for these tamariki.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? We didn't get this far
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? It introduced an awareness of what racism is.
A great kit with well thought out lessons and excellent resources. Intended for Years 3-8, I found many of the activities were pitched too high for my Year 4 class. My more capable students were interested and had enough prior knowledge to be more involved; however most were not able to relate to the concepts and struggled to participate in activities. We didn’t end up doing all of the lessons. The kit seemed to be more successful with older year levels in the school. Overall, a great kit that I would use again if I was teaching older students.

We have enjoyed this kit. The compliments work fitted in really well with work we are doing through our anti-bullying programme KiVa. The kids loved the pictionary game and it was good to see not too many stereotypes coming through. My favourite was the kid who drew a tortoise instead of a tourist! Unfortunately we haven't finished yet but I am planning on doing the things I wish the teacher knew this week. Thanks for another great kit.

Working in an ILE with groups working across three classes, the teachers were encouraged by the honest and potentially limited stereotypical responses of the students.
