“I most appreciate the posters -- and students do too! So much good information and paths for extending student learning. Also super handy to be able to point to them as we're discussing books like The Pōrangi Boy and The Hate U Give. I chose not to have students play the Not in My World game because I felt it encouraged stereotyping, and I didn't want my students who belong to some of those identities to experience those stereotypes (even if the overall intent of the exercise was good).”

“Term 4 was probably not the best time for our department to try the kit but we used several parts of it with both our students and prospective Y9 students in Y8 visits. Stereotype Pictionary was very popular. Overall the kit will fit into a term 1 programme for several classes next year and I will update our review then. It is a well constructed kit that we can drop in and out of from Y9-11 in our social studies classes.”

“I did not use everything the kit offered, due to time constraints from the lockdown and creating my own work to supplement it. But what I did use that I found to be really helpful and effective was the pictionary and the posters. The game was highly engaging and a nice catalyst for discussion, e.g. every single student who drew ' a smart person' drew maths symbols. The posters were a fantastic way of scaffolding a small research and social action project, as they outlined a series of different approaches to the issue which organically built a holistic understanding. Having a range of media was great, as some students were really engaged with the podcasts whilst others with researching more into the events or people profiled. I really appreciated the time and thought that went into creating such concise and up-to-date resources because it is the type of thing that is very labour intensive.”
