How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? Students made noticeable changes in their language about themselves and their peers. They started using more positive language about their skills, abilities and attributes.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? The charging station was a particular favourite - it opened more specific conversations with students, specifically those who have been known to find it challenging to ask for support previously.

“This is a fabulous kit that all our akonga enjoyed and engaged with enthusiastically. They really enjoyed the token system in particular. We ran this across term 3 and into Term 4 at the request of students. We also found those who struggle to engage with mindfulness activities really bought into the concepts in the Dove kit which was helpful a r in supporting them to create more awareness around positive self image and in turn, lifting others.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? When we looked at the portrait video the kids could relate and they found it powerful. We did a similar thing with words. It was amazing to see the differences in what they thought of themselves and how others seen themselves.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? We only managed to get the start done and hadn't progressed to the charging station. That will be the next stage and the start of next year. We will look at building this within the classroom at the start of the year.

The children were given more confidence to express themselves in class, and offered more support to one another, both in and outside the classroom. They respected others, and this filtered into other curriculum areas too, like giving constructive feedback

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Communication is more open. We use the box with the chips every morning, and go around in a circle. Children are confident to share as much or as little as they want, and I can keep tabs or children I might need to keep an eye on that day.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The red, yellow, and green cards were clear and easy for the students to follow. If they were feeling great on that day, it was their challenge to show great values and empower their classmates.

“We have been practicing mindfulness all year and it was been a school focus, so the kids really resonated with this kit. The confidentiality of the token system meant that I was able to check in with them without it being obvious to their peers. As it was term 4 when we started this, it felt a bit rushed but that's just because how crazy the term was. Looking forward to seeing how I can implement this self regulating system next year. How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? Students have the confidence to tell me how they're feeling in a non-threatening way and resources to support how they're feeling.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? All components have been used in our classroom. The students really like being able to fill in the red slip to explain their feelings in more detail.

“This has been one of the best kits I've had from you. Our school-wide focus has been on well-being and it has complemented what we are already doing nicely. It has been so helpful to have a check-in system each morning that is anonymous and gives me a chance to talk 1:1 with students that really need my support. I love the resource cards for ideas for next steps. I will be using this kit again in the new year. Thank you so much!!”
