How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The ability to self regulate their emotions and be able to share how they are feeling with the tokens and the form if it's a red day.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? It has opened up conversations which probably wouldn't have happened without the introduction of the School Kit tools.

“The class thoroughly enjoyed the Recharge zone and even more so on our return post COVID-19. Dusing lockdown we would start on Google Meet with a check-in from the pack and we carried out much of the booklet online too.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? My students now have more agency and resilience to know what to do when they are experiencing challenging emotions.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? My students can now tell me if they are in the yellow or red zone and I can help them identify zones and strategies to help them.

“The Self Confidence kit was a wonderful way to start the school year. It helped me make connections with my students and it helped my students to form bonds with their peers. When we went into lockdown we had only gotten about half way through the kit. I knew when we came back to school we would need to focus on well being above everything else and it was so great to have done the leg work for the kit. When we came back we were immediately talking about the different zones that we might find ourselves in and what we could do to help ourselves and others with the charging station. The timing of the kit really was a blessing.”

“Due to workload pre Lockdown, we were unable to begin this unit as we were finishing the previous unit. We are now back but with distancing and students not moving much around the room, my class voted not to begin work till we were at Level 1 and could access the wall display etc with ease. Our Science Fair projects are due in by Week 12 so we won't be able to do due diligence to the kit till the beginning of Term 3. We want to complete it properly, so hope this delay is ok. This is a unit that was needed before COVID but now it is essential - the dynamics of my class have definitely changed and so I really look forward to being able to help my students build themselves up again through this kit.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? Some of the strategies we started I could see being implemented into their vocab.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Daily token is going to be really useful now we are back to ‘normal’ in the classroom.

“This kit has so many great things about it that my class and I were just about to embark on! The idea of giving students strong resilience skills is so important at this time of their growth. The quality of the materials provided is amazing, from the planning to the physical resources you get. My class and I will be revisiting this in Term 3 and I encourage all teachers to take up this offer next time it comes around.”

“My class has actively engaged in this kit. They put their token in self check box each morning, and often read the orange and green cards. Those who put their token in the red slot, fill in the form. They do sometimes decide orange is how they feel because they don't want to fill in the form. However those that fill in the form value the opportunity it offers.”
