How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The Self Confidence Kit was fantastic with the self check cards and recharge station. The children began to be really in touch with their own feelings, and supportive of each other. We need to continue these lessons when we get back.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? They have supported us in developing our relationship with opening lines of communication up, using the tools as conversation starters about how they are feeling.
The games, stickers and actions cards in this kit really engaged the students in the content and enabled us to build an awesome class community for Term One. We got to know each other a lot better as we unpacked the sessions and looked at what is racism and how to make sure we are aware so that we can help build a better class, school and world.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The kit hasn't been used to its full potential but will be when we return.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Still being used and will be used more in-depth on our return to school. The tokens will be an outstanding idea and we can use these to see how we were at home and how we learnt to cope with different situations.
Our focus at school this year is resilience so the kit, ties in perfectly, however, due to COVID we have been unable to get the full use of the kit. It is all set up on my wall as a display and the children have been looking at it. I look forward to using it when we get back to school and discussing how resilient we have been over the past 6 weeks.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The scaffolding of the lessons engaged the students and built on their initial knowledge. The self reflection journal was an excellent individual resource that we built into our weekly routine, a good skill for children to learn to do properly.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Some of my students really took to the challenges when they were fully charged which was great to witness. It was good at the beginning of the year to implement this process as we got to know each other.
Some excellent resources and quality content to assist in building class culture and reinforcing our school values/ what we expect of students at our school. Some students really took to the concepts covered, linked in nicely with growth mindset as well.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? They loved learning about who they are in more detailed fashion. It really made them think about themselves as a person, rather than how they were viewed by others. They loved the page their whanau had to fill out.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? They have opened up and find it easier to identify their feelings that they are experiencing. All the talk about feelings has made them fell more comfortable within the classroom and knowing it is okay and a good ting to identify and talk about feelings.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The videos about being individual and unique and people often wanting to change things about themselves were very powerful and really hit home with my class.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? The easy to use token system worked wonders for me. Each child had a token with their name on it and at some stage during the day put in into the box which was away from the rest of the class for me to check during the day and then check in with kids.
Thank you School Kit. This unit of work was both meaningful and engaging. The wall displace and charging station was a hit with my class and a great way for me to check in with each student everyday and monitor their well-being. As we went into Level 4 lockdown my class took their booklets home with them to fill in during lockdown. The wall display I will be leaving up as it will be very useful as we move into Level 3 then Level 2 and get back into the swing of things at school.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The cards were useful for a group of Year 7 boys who were having an issue while I was out on duty.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? We only just started so hard to gauge but even when used for short discussions the cards were particularly helpful

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? My students have learned to realise that self-confidence is something they have a hand in building, that there is no shame in asking for help, and indeed great reward in helping others when they are feeling low.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Students are comfortable writing notes for me, sharing experiences in person or writing emails. Through explicit teaching of the 'low battery' form, they realised the importance of narrowing down exactly how they were feeling, which helped them self-solve
This Dove/School Kit collaboration has produced an amazing classroom resource. At the beginning of the term I set up the Charging Station which meant students were able to use it at the start of building our class culture. Students feeling low, who may have otherwise been missed in the business of the classroom programme, were able to let me know quickly and effectively how they were feeling, which meant changes were made and 'batteries' recharged more quickly. During Lockdown, I've used Google Forms and screenshots of the tokens for my students to check in with me, which has been a great way of keeping in touch. Thanks School Kit. Thank you so much.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? As Above. But also I can see the value of children being able to talk about their feelings with me and their peers, and as we go along in the journey that these feelings are just for that minute and then we move on - this is resilience 101.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? I think that it allows a window into the 'why' of certain behaviors in the class, and also with children that find it difficult to articulate their feelings this has helped alot.
We had only just started this kit - and we were talking about feelings and how do we manage them, monitor them and name them to then move on with the day. I had put out the disc for them to recharge without any discussion, and they instantly started standing on it at different times of the day - saying "I am just charging myself up for the afternoon or I just need some energy"Unfortunately I had to go into lockdown away from my teaching post, but will be incorporating this into the term when we come back to school as we will be needing to work through a lot of feelings when we all rejoin society.
