How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The children have a language that they connect with and that they can use to share their thoughts with others. The charging station created a lot of discussion about levels of feelings and offered them a way to sort things out for themselves when possible
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? It has given us a shared language that the children can use to communicate with me, and in which they feel they have been understood and listened to. They have become more specific when describing what is going on for them which has helped me to pinpoint
This was a great kit with some really useful prompts and tricks that helped my class to talk about what is going on for them. The charging station proved to be the biggest hit and it was awesome to see the children using it independently. They worked co-operatively and felt a real sense of achievement when they were able to make a positive impact on someone else's day. The more we used the language the more the children started to independently use it. This meant that they were able to explain what was going on for them in more specific way. The children I work alongside often have issues at home and are feeling anxious about what is going on around them. I feel like using this kit has given them tools that they can use both in school and at home.

I really enjoyed this kit and how it fit for our school and our class, especially at the beginning of the year and in light of the current situation we find ourselves in.

Even though in lockdown I am using a couple of ideas from the kit to support my class while online. We are using the Green, Yellow and Red idea at the start of each day to show how we are feeling. This gives me a chance to connect with everyone. On our pieces of work we are also using this method as a form of self assessment. This steams from the token idea in the kit. Another idea is we have used the idea of a gratitude journal/ COVID 19 journal to write down our feelings, what we are doing, and just about anything in here using the yellow booklet (e version) to help guide as writing prompts. One blocker but teachers always find solutions- is how to keep the pockets on the wall without them ripping. Tried staples, Sticky dots, flat head drawing pins- in the end had a basket tht the envelopes would stand up in- child would put token in slot and then go to basket and take envelope out and one card. Replace. Still haven't used the kit to its full potential as we were doing Get NZ Writing kits as well. My thought was to trial the kit in my class and then share with the Progressive Learning Centre and find a place where we could put it so that other children could also access it- difficult to find in a school of over 1000 Yr 7 and 8 students.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The personal journals are a stand out for me. Each student gets their personal space to share all about them.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? This kit can help to further develop that teacher-student relationship, and encourage them to be comfortable and confident to share their thought and feelings in a safe environment.
Although we have no started this kit yet in class, this is going to centre our learning when we get back to school. There are going to be a lot of anxious students who will need a place to discuss their feelings and develop their resilience again. I can't wait to start this journey with them when we are back to normal at school.

This kit was very relevant for the age group I teach. It was clear and self explanatory in its use within the classroom. The learners loved owning this kit and using it in a range of different ways.

In Week 7 we had planned out our initial lessons to unpack this resource, ready for Week 8. We were so excited and had been telling our kids we were starting a new project! Well you know what happened in Week 8... so we are ready to roll once we are back in Level 2, and we know this will be more important than ever then! I have put neutral below as I can't comment yet, if only there was a 'sorry we didn't get to teach it because of that stupid virus' option!
