“My students love receiving a box from School Kit. They know something special is about to happen. This kit was no different, they wanted to jump right into it. The journal is full of thought provoking ideas and students really treasured them, knowing it was personal and private. Parents enjoyed getting involved. The recharge mat was constantly used during the day and those students not able to read confidently would bring cards for me to read. Eventually they also went to classmates to share their cards. But the tokens, for me, was the biggest win. It gave me the opportunity to understand how my students were feeling on a day to day basis and start conversations with them to support them during their day. “This kit was a great framework to discuss mindset and self esteem with students. In a smaller classroom it was difficult to have the wall setup desired by the kit and we ended up mostly using the checkin and a smaller recharge station. Discussions with kids were good and they seemed more comfortable checking in with teacher.”
