How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The students were relatively confident - it was good for them to identify the adults that they have positive impacts on their lives
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? We didn't get as far as using the charging system
“The kit had a lot of components to it, I like that it had student workbooks - they could have ownership of this, which was good. There were some elements that were easy to explain and others not so much....the information sheet for teachers to teach from wasn't explicit - the instructions need to be made more clearer - I wasn't sure of the purpose of the poems?”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The four part 'self-confidence' model was a very powerful prompt for discussion. It linked in with the whare tapa wha model, which the kids are very familiar with. I believe that the letter responses were the most powerful element of the unit.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? The daily 'self-charging station' was a powerful prompt for communication. It shifted the focus of some student-teacher communication, but shifted some student to student communication too (which was the more powerful outcome in my opinion).
“I used this kit to complement our annual 'puberty' health unit. The powerful videos, wholistic model of self-confidence, and emphasis on communication added an incredibly valuable element to a unit that had previously heavily focuses on the physical changes adolescents experience, but largely ignored the social and emotional changes that also happen. The caring adult letters were the highlight of the unit. The responses some of the kids received were so moving. For many students I'm sure their letter will become a personal taonga that will be treasured for lifetimes.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? I think our incoming students will thrive from this kit and help them settle into a new school environment easier.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? I have no doubt that we will have amazing responses as it looks fantastic!
“Dur to covid and lockdowns, we didn't dive into this as much as planned - however this is no reflection on the equipment and support that we've received, which is absolutely outstanding. We are incredibly lucky to have access to such resources and I look forward to being able to use this kit next year.”

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? I used parts of the kit / ideas during our online learning too and it gave us a tool and the shared language to 'check in' with students at home and monitor how they were going

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? I have a number of students in my class who have low self esteem so this kit served a specific purpose. They can talk about themselves in a more positive way and understand the importance of having a positive attitude about themselves.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? It has given us a real purpose for relevant and meaningful discussion. When this happens, engagement is very evident. The kit relates to our Gospel Values of respect and responsibility which is part of our schools' special character.
