What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? With this kit it was easy to take this cross curricula, with writing produced and beautiful art.

How did you find the open format of this kit? There was so much information and ways it could be used. I did have to break it down and think what my kids would enjoy the most out of it. But overall, it’s amazing!

“This kit linked so nicely to our topic in term 1, identity and exploring who we are. There was unlimited activities and learning experiences that came from this kit. We loved the videos clips that linked, and the oral language that came from my year 1’s was amazing. We had such a fun time exploring the whales before lockdown. Hopefully now we are out of lockdown we will continue to explore some more activities provided in the box. Thank you!”

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Again didn’t get to experience all that I had hoped to BUT the cross curricular opportunities were present in all parts of the kit! Story telling dice were super cool for creating discussion too!

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? This was a great kit for us. We have been learning about New Zealand during social science so it tied in nicely as an extra activity. It was also good for literacy as we did the poems.

This kit really builds oral language through telling, listening to and sharing stories in the classroom, families, and wider community. Art, drama, dance, and Te Reo Maori & maths patterning etc. are areas I intend to develop further.

“This was a great Junior Kit, and even though I haven't used it in its entirety yet it has made a fantastic starting point for our Junior story telling inquiry for the remainder of this term (Sadly I was intending to spend the final few weeks of T1 using the kit, but actually it has worked in my favour for this term!!) The task 2 Exploring our own ways of telling stories, and "I am a story"became part of our initial provocation into how, what & why people share stories. Moving forward I intend exploring myths & legends as one way stories are passed through generations, identifying characters as 'explorers'.”
