How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? We enjoyed reading the postcards and poster but, disappointing that the postcards received weren't coloured in as my year 3 class had spent time colouring in theirs. The poster was all written in capital letters. The overheard conversation on the poster w

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Swapping with another class was the highlight of the task. Students were keen to receive them and opened up more discussion on what was similar or different to the words they used in their poems. The big poem poster also gave them an insight into their pa
This was a great activity to inspire and engage the students. The items in the tin created a lot of discussion. Many enjoyed being able to manipulate the pieces of paper with their words to re arrange their poems before publishing. Knowing that they were going to post them on to another school gave them a strong sense of purpose for their writing.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? It was awesome to receive mail from another class. My class were so excited when they saw me bring the envelope into the classroom! Cool to see what they had written and listen to their favourite song and also explore where they were from.
This was the first time that I have done a School Kit with my class. Loved doing it although with a very busy term it was a little challenging to fit it in. I know now that when I do it again that I need to start it earlier!!! My own children (now Year 5 and 6) rave about School Kit so I knew it was going to be great to do.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Students were curious to find out how the other schools were doing it. Writing for a different school and receiving mail from a different school adds motivation and pleasure in accomplishing tasks.
Students enjoyed the manipulation with the objects. They could make good connections with them. My class struggled to get the anagrams for all the letters in the words that made it time-consuming. Overall it was a great experience.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? I like this and we spent a little time learning about where the school was and a little about it from their website. The kids would have loved to find out more about them.
The students were mostly very enthusiastic about this kit. Some parts were a little trickier and it took longer than I thought it would to complete this kit well. All in all, it was another great kit to participate in and there was so much valuable learning.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Most children were looking forward to getting the package and seeing what the other class had wrote. When it arrived they were very excited.
This was a much harder one than previous kits... for some reason the children found the format confusing no matter how many time I explained and modeled it to them!!
