How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? A lot of value. That's why we do it in my class. Because we're swapping with another class and sharing our writing. It would be great to be able to opt into a say 3 times year option with the same class.
Year 5

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? This is a cool part, I wonder if it would be possible for there to be planning created to help schools extend this relationship and keep it going? I know that is the idea but without help on how to do this or activities provided I reckon that most buddy c
The kids LOVED the items in the tin. However we are not a confident device using school so did all the research together as a class and this was quite boring for the children and took a LONG time. We found this years activity MUCH harder than previous years, I understand the need to change it, keep it fresh etc but I feel that this task was too challenging for year 3/4. The boxes on the postcards were VERY small for children of this age to write in.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? The children love that they can share their work with another class. Especially special due to finding out that our school was in Linwood Christchurch :purple_heart:
Loved the challenge and was amazed at the variety of activities that could be used and extended to explore vocabulary. Awesome!!

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Students genuinely enjoyed seeing what the other class had written. There were very similar ideas for some categories and in some cases, the same idea had been considered. Such a cool concept; having another class miles away doing the same tasks as us. It
Ideal kit for promoting collaboration, research and creativity. This was an easy School Kit to add into our literacy programme.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Kids loved the idea of the writing going to another class. Was a bit disappointing that the buddy class didn’t add colour at all to the postcards when I have seen such colourful versions on Facebook.
The tin of objects and ideas for the colour poems were fantastic. Kids were motivated and able to experience success. The postcard activity was challenging for my class. I have done this before and found the metaphor a more achievable task but we got there in the end. Rather than labouring on I did use the word banks and fill in some of the postcards myself though when it seemed a challenge to far for some of the class. The class are still busy drawing and writing inspired by the items in the tin.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Gave an authentic context for the writing and motivated the children to do their best!
Thank you Schoolkit and Warehouse Stationery for the wonderful kit that you provided to our classroom. The children were highly excited and motivated by the content of the box, and because of this (and the lesson plan guidance), some wonderful poetic writing was created. We also appreciated being able to connect to another classroom from a different regionnand you made this possible. We were so pleased to be involved!

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Students enjoyed sharing work with and from another school. They made made links to the information on the large class sheet and felt it was special to receive their own personal card to share. Students shared their experience and cards received at the sc
The resources and support materials were easy to use and access. The students enjoyed using the objects as a focus for their poetry and extended writing. The class sheet was a real hit and was a source of much discussion and compromise. Having a focus and audience for their work was a great motivator for students to produce their best work and try their hardest. They definitely want to go this again. Thank you very much for the organisation and resources.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? See review comment. Final words: We all LOVED the kit. See you in 2020!
Totally loved the kit. The kids loved discovering anagrams and synonyms to use. This learning will cross over into their general writing. They loved (I know I'm overusing the love word :) the fact that 'real' kids were doing the same thing for them, and finding out the similarities between their class and ours was exciting. I enjoyed (see I do know other words) having a different kit this year and I thought it was easier to work with. The tiny tin of objects was a great inspiration, although some of my students went 'off piste' and wrote about a couch and a meteor!
