How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? This was the best part :) The children were motivated to write knowing their poems were being sent to another class. And receiving the package was so exciting for them!
A great activity with rich learning tasks. Very time-consuming though. It could be better if the poster was left out and it was just the poetry activities culminating in the postcards.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? It made the exercise real. Students were writing for and to other students and new that their work would be a valid contribution to another class.
A very different and interesting exercise. I love the 'Real Life' context. Writing for a purpose is always more powerful.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? We only received our small postcards, and not the whole class poster from our buddy school. So we knew nothing about them. We enjoyed doing the in class activities, and they were very helpful. I did find I needed to go to the Instagram or Facebook page
Overall I did enjoy this activity, and so did my class. I think though, that the Year 3's did struggle with this activity. Possibly would've been better for Year 4 and up.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? This was really exciting!! My class liked seeing the class poem in particular and found it interesting what they wrote on their postcards.
I have a Year 4/5 class of varied writing abilities. What I loved the most was that every child was motivated and enjoyed writing; from my most reluctant writer to a child who is quite gifted in writing.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? it gave a real purpose to the exercise and the children were so excited to receive their mail in return.
The children loved the colour poem and the objects, but the whole concept of the Slam poem was a very difficult concept. We were all trying to work out the connection between the poems and the big poster! It seemed a bit disjointed. However the language and the collaboration that came out of it was fantastic. Thank you.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Having a genuine audience of peers was really valuable - it made the students stop and think about the way their work would be perceived by others and they are really excited to be reading the work of others.
Loved this! Initially found the teacher guide a little trickier to follow than previous guides have been, but once I got started it all seemed to fall into place.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Unfortunately pick up time was different from time stated which caused confusion on my side however communication with your staff made it easy for another time and day to be set. Teacher expectation and student responsibility in our class was challengin
Awesome plan, so easy for teacher to follow with exciting ideas. Students enjoyed the variety of task.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? They were so excited to get the parcel, and compare what they had done to the parcel from the buddy class. It really added another level to what they had done.
My class loved doing this kit. They were so involved, and animated. They really enjoyed doing the poster collaboratively, and then the postcards with the box of 'treasures' were a real hit. Thank you!
