How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? This aspect was very motivating - students were inspired to push themselves as they knew another class was counting on us. Students also loved the fact that 3000 classrooms around NZ were doing the same thing at the same time as us - builds the idea of th
This school kit was very engaging and motivating for my students. Loved the concept of sticky words - the kids loved deciding on a definition for what this meant to us and justifying their use of what made a word 'sticky'. The concepts and ideas from this kit will be used all year!

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? This was really exciting!! My class liked seeing the class poem in particular and found it interesting what they wrote on their postcards.
I have a Year 4/5 class of varied writing abilities. What I loved the most was that every child was motivated and enjoyed writing; from my most reluctant writer to a child who is quite gifted in writing.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Great, all completed.
Hi, The resources and lesson ideas were great this year. The only feedback is I notice there was confusion about sending the colour poem to the other school, I didn't send mine as on the facebook page people said you didn't, so felt bad when I was sent one from the other school.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? It made the exercise real. Students were writing for and to other students and new that their work would be a valid contribution to another class.
A very different and interesting exercise. I love the 'Real Life' context. Writing for a purpose is always more powerful.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? We enjoyed reading the postcards and poster but, disappointing that the postcards received weren't coloured in as my year 3 class had spent time colouring in theirs. The poster was all written in capital letters. The overheard conversation on the poster w
Maybe not match a Year 3 and Intermediate class together. Reasons are as follows.
