How has this kit influenced your confidence in STEM teaching and learning? I did find the Buzz Planes a bit challenging. We only found out from another colleague after (Year 7/8) that we should have been removing some of the plastic from around the wire in order for the plane to buzz. It was still very enjoyable though.

“My class loved taking part in the Jean Batten challenge. It was fantastic to see the students work cooperatively on the tasks set. They particularly loved the code breaking activities. The Buzz Planes were quite challenging for us (Year3/4) but this was a chance for us to experience a situation where we have a problem that we need to persevere with.. just like Jean did. In what ways did the kit allow development of strategic thinking for your students? The morse codes especially helped the students with this, they then were able to help others. Also when the kids had to work together as a team without touching the ground, really brought their strategic thinking to the forefront.

We also found that getting the wires stripped sometimes resulted in the wires coming
