What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We have a school garden so this is just the beginning. It will lead into Garden Science and be something that is done in future years.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Introducing students to seedlings they had never heard of before. This will increase the number of herbs and vegetables they will eat.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We did lots of baking, PE by talking about how else we can keep ourselves healthy. Lots of science

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We are needing to re do our gardens so they create more edible gardens, the children are talking about what other vegetables they can plant.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The children are talking more about vegetables and fruit and I have noticed more children bringing vegetable in their lucnhboxes.

Science - We have have been talking about creatures that live in our home gardens. We have observed and read about worms and spiders. The children's oral language has been amazing a

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? I intend to use veggies to help children learn about fractions. We will cut whole veggies into halves and quarters. Literacy we will write and draw about the process of growing seedlings.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Our main focus has been identifying different, veggies, planting and watching the seeds grow.

“Our New Entrant class has enjoyed planting and watching the Little garden seedlings grow. It has been delightful to watch their reactions as many had not grown seedlings before. We transplanted some seedlings into bigger containers at school (which fitted in well with our Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, and Rot unit). They have taken the rest of their wee plants home. Thank you for the online support of songs, tips etc. They have been very enjoyable.”

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It complemented an ";Eat the Rainbow"; activity we had done earlier in the Term. It gives children the ownership from seed to plant to vegetable so they will be more likely to eat it.

“All children engaged from the start in the learning opportunities the kit provided. Some of the younger Year 1 children needed support with filling in and folding of letters as it was a bit challenging for them. Online resources were useful. Children liked being part of a league/club.”

“Such a great learning focussed kit. Excitement was high right from the mystery in the box. My class really enjoyed having their own plant and took great care of these. Many children had never grown plants and had a fairly limited knowledge of plants. My only critique is that earlier in the term would have been better, I could have done an entire term of learning on this.”

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We did loads of writing based around the kit. We measured our plants for maths. Of course was some health involved looking the healthiness of vegetables.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Before the holidays all the children took home at least one plant. We have regular update on how many of these plants a re getting on - hopefully we'll even have some fully grown vegetables brought back into school!

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? For my 5/6 year-olds this was basic but good. All my children understood that eating more veges was healthy and helped you. I think the biggest thing they got out of the kit was learning the wide range of vegetables that there are. We managed to try some

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Used the writing prompts and received some of the best writing from my class yet. Maths, learning statistics and looking at what the favourite vege was in our class, inquiry learning about the science of our healthy bodies, and ofcourse health!

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? My kids have so much more of an interest in gardening and growing plants/vegetables. They know what it means to look after their bodies and the importance of eating healthy.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Learning about different veges, what veges do for our bodies, 5+ a day, students being excited to try new fruits and vegetables. Seeing an increase in healthy foods in lunches!

“THIS WAS THE BEST KIT BY FAR!! This was such an awesome kit for my students in year 1/2. They absolutely loved being a part of a ‘secret group’ and completely their missions. They took it with such pride and were able to do all of the aspects provided in the kit. It fit perfectly into our team inquiry this term or sun safety and health (looking after our bodies, inside and outside). Although a bit late because of being pushed for time at the end of term 3, completing it the first few weeks of term 4 allowed for more time to dive into thoughtful conversations and discovery over the concepts.
