In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? This has helped students branch out and try new foods they would ordinarily turn their noses up at. They were encouraged to give new foods a go and to learn about why they were healthy and tasty choices.

“Having the opportunity to plant, and take care of seedlings then taste the outcome of their efforts was a real highlight for my learners. We have various weather systems through our area throughout the time of this kit and having to protect the seedlings from the elements and problem solve around keeping them safe was a great chance to show creative thinking skills and responsibility for something. A hands on activity that allowed for lots of learning opportunities and cross curricular inquiry.”

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We did a lot of cross curricular activities. In geometry we were learning about 3 shapes and nets, we used our understanding of these to create the Vegetable Characters in 3D. We have also looked at measurement about how big our plants have grown. W

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We could continue down the route of learning about plants and continue to work through the children's different wonderings. We are also going to look at trying new vegetables and finding recipes we could try which might use these new vegetables.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We have only just started on healthy eating as part of this kit as went went down a science parts of a plant route. The kids have learnt about new vegetable and are looking forward to trying a range of different vegetables in the coming weeks.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? The students were able to be scientists and observe their seeds growing and draw their observations and then we used them as inspiration for our writing, writing about their favorite vegetables!

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? The students loved the matching games as well as the code cracking.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? This kit was great becuase it started conversatiosn about different types of vegetable, what the students had and hadn't tried and sparked a curiosity to try some new vegetables.

“What an amazing project! The students loved all the mystry surrounding it and it caught their attention. They were so excited to discover what seedling they each get to plant and loved taking turn watering the seeds and putting them out into the sun each day. Then they began to sprout, and they checked on them each day seeing how they changed day to day. Once it was finally time to take them home, they were beyond thrilled and are still giving me updates on each of their seedlings.”

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Gardens to tables...we also made links to the idea of reduce, reuse and recycle...minimising packaging and aiming to have a non-packaging lunchbox by the end of the year.

It has given us the opportunity to discuss what a healthy snack is. It has also helped ignite more interest in our school garden. They are eager to get out and weed, water and plant.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? The kit enabled me to cover reading, oral language, writing, math's, art and science. For example we enjoyed learning to measure out the water and them seeing what happened to the soil tablet. The children loved reading and writing about the plants.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? As the classroom teacher we will continue on planting a variety of seeds and maybe bulbs. The children are far more aware of the different seeds and what they grow into and how we can use and eat them. We are looking at visiting our local community garden

The seedling kits and accessories are 100% plastic free, the seedling fibre pottles are home compostable. Also, children have been using their Measurement skills
