What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? - Continuing growth in their own (home) communities, seeing what vegetables they could raise. - Cooking - what are different ways they could cook their vegetables.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? - Being able to identify more vegetables than what they started. - Seeing others try different vegetables gave other students the confidence to try vegetables they haven't tasted or maybe previously disliked. - Talking about the nutrients that vegetabl
This was such an excellent project to engage my learners to understand the concept of how our vegetables grow and encourage healthy foods. Prior to starting this topic I had no students that we able to identify all of the vegetables. I now have 25 confident students who are able to recognise different vegetables at full maturity. I loved how hands on this project was and gave each student an opportunity to feel some sort of ownership over this project by growing their own plant, putting in their applications to become members, receiving their LGL badges and the weekly code crackers were an absolute hit. This project has linked beautifully into our inquiry of responsibility. My kids have been buzzing and are so excited to plant these in our school garden in the next few weeks. Thankyou Schoolkit and New World on behalf of Room 20!

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? This kit worked really well with our learning through play environment. It was easy to incorporate our little garden learning into the play kitchen!
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We are looking forward to seeing what the children do next with our garden!
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We haven’t eaten our vegetables yet.. they are still growing. When we get to tasting our crop I think this will really help with student awareness of healthy eating and nutrition.
The kids loved cracking the code, planting and caring for our vegetables. It was so nice that our local New World came and delivered our own vegetable garden. We have this right outside our classroom so the learning can happen all the time. We can’t wait to taste our crop!

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? As the children are only 5 and 6 year olds they have learnt the names of and been enthusiastic about finding out about veges and plants. They will be more aware of nuitrition and healthy eating as we progress through the term.
Loved the kit and the fabulous introduction activities. The kids loved making the treehouse, belonging to the Little League club and growing the new world pots. Healthy eating is our topic this term so the promotion has been a useful resource. The children have been finding out the names of vegetables and fruits. We have a visit from the Life Education caravan as well and hopefully the little garden plants will be ready for tasting before the end of the year.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? It was a second inquiry topic for the term, but was also used for writing (including the application letters), there was lots of reading and we counted the seeds and plants for maths ( a junior class).

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The class loved sharing about what vegetables they eat at home and enjoyed learning about new vegetables that they may not have tried yet.
This pack was really great! Everyone in the class was engaged and everyone got to have a turn at planting some seeds - hands on activities are always wonderful. Our class feel very lucky they were chosen to be part of the Little Garden League. Due to the school holidays, the children took the plants home and are giving updates about their progress. The idea is that if the plants are successful, the children will bring the vegetable to school for those that want to try it.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? encouraging more children to join the gardening club at school. encouraging more vege gardens at home. more writing and math opportunities.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? I believe the kids that are not fond of a range of vegetables will be more motivated through growing their own, but can't be sure.
The kids loved growing the little gardens. They watched the progress with enthusiasm and made good statements about what they noticed. It linked in well to other curriculum areas such as writing. i believe it motivated the kids to get the little gardens from the supermarket and continue on.
