How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?
In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Science - growing and planting. Maths - measuring and calculating as well as open ended questions related to seeds, planting and harvesting. The Arts - dance, drama, visual.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Knowing how to grow their own veges at home. Harvesting those veges and knowing how to cook/prepare them. General gardening skills.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Children are aware of more vege names and can relate this to what their parents are making and saying at home. They take their oath seriously and know they need to try new things.
The children have loved having their own seeds to plant and the added excitement and challenge of decoding messages has been a fun bonus.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It was a great conversation starter about what kind of food we eat and where it actually comes from. We talked about our likes and dislikes but how the LGL was important to keep us healthy.
They children LOVED this schoolkit! We have had some much fun cracking codes, learning about the different vegetables and playing games to memorise the members of the LGL! The children have loved relating it to their own experiences and have really enjoyed being part of the process to grown their own little garden.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Letter writing, Growing a garden, ... talking about how a plant gets from being a seed to onto our dinner plate. In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The students are keen to try new veges and to see what their plants will eventually grow up to be.
Hi, This has been the best kit so far. My students have been completely engaged, and eagerly rush into the class each morning to check how their 'adopted babies' are growing. They are keen to plant the plants into our classroom garden. This really has been a well leveled and exciting kit! Thank you so much New World for inspiring the next generation of little gardeners! Also the rule in the classroom is to try new things... at the moment we have a number of students bring raw broccoli in as part of their lunch and snacks. definitely a winner!!

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We looked at the scientific aspect of growing...sun, water, soil etc
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We would integrate writing and math's next time. We could write procedures of how we planted the seeds and math's by measuring the growth and even use these results as part of a Statistical Investigation.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Talking about what is in our lunchboxes. Discussing how good it is to try new things, vegetables and fruit. Comparing our healthy foods with each other.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to be part of Little Garden League, we have enjoyed the secret codes, growing our own vegetables and herbs and screaming out 'Grow, Protect, Taste'...(this is just something we call out during the day). Room 2's feedback: We like to watch the vegetables grow and we hope they taste good. Our plants are growing really well. I like planting them and taking care of them. Is was like magic when we added water to the tablet and got soil...it was cool to watch! So thank you again as we have been discussing trying new vegetables and fruit and developing an awareness that our taste buds change so we need to change with them!

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We gave our vegetables 'character descriptions' (writing/literacy), it tied in with our new gardens/inquiry focus at our school. Also, our maths referring to measurement/temperature/climate and seasons/when it's the best time to grow etc.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Sustainability
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? I think it prompted good conversations at home as well as in the classroom.
My Year 3/4 class throughly enjoyed the little garden league. It was timed well with the release in stores and many children have started their own gardens at home too! It was rewarding watching them grow, each morning they would check their progress. The codes were also well suited for our age group. It was a good way to teach them new words e.g. 'bio-degradable' and encourage them to try new vegetables.
