In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Inquiry - discussed plant life cycle ... we also looked and discussed other ways to grow plants besides from seed; what plants require to grow Language: provided new vocab for children; especially ESOL in the class

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We will look at the reasons some might not have grown - link it to our cause and effect theme in Inquiry.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We had some good discussions but the children (well the age I teach) are guided by their parents choices to some degree. But still important to create awareness and provide them with the facts.

It has opened up a whole range of exploration with fruits and veges..so far we have tried raw carrot, raw mushroom, cooked broccoli and corn fritters, lemon and mint water, mint leaves, guacamole and marmite and lettuce sandwiches...Friday is smoothie day! In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? There was opportunity for measurement (we didn't get to this as the seedlings are only just sprouting), and reading/writing (reading and filling in the forms, the code-crackers). Measuring the water for the little garden planting.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? I will definitely continue to use the spot it vege game as it is a good one for language and memory.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We are an enviro school and we are always in the garden, this just promoted it more. Watching our plants grow was fascinating. Loved it, thankyou so much for the box, we so enjoyed it.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? I've grown this so I will eat it. I've grown this so I'm spreading the word about healthy eating. My class and teacher are all secret league members too so we know that healthy food is worth eating to be big and strong.

“Fantastic, the children each had something that was theirs, the badge, the little garden. the story was fun with the photo. It grabbed the attention of the children in this respect. Eating something that you have planted and cared for seems to taste better or they have ownership so they want to eat it and spread the word about eating veges.”
