In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? They are excited to try some things they haven't tried before. They want to start our garden outside our room.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We linked this to health (healthy eating, 5+ a day), science, maths and literacy (through book links).

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We are going to integrate this into a sustainability unit, as well as linking to our Religious Education curriculum (caring for God's creation).

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We have been able to link our Little Gardens to healthy eating unit and the importance of 5+ a day

Also our Enviro schools focus is on sustainability and growing our own food so it fit in again really well! We also incorporated learning about time - counting days and estimating sprouting tim

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Future focus from this learning are: Time - days of the week, months of the year. Science: Living world life cycle of plants

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The fact they were growing it helped them be more receptive to eating it!! We are goingto make healthy shared lunches from the plants we planted in the school garden next term and they are all keen to try the vegetables!

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? The students were able to write about their experience and link it to our enviro-school learning as well.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We were able to research more about gardening (what makes a good garden, what to add to make our seedlings grow well)

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The students have been more willing to try new vegetables at home and to increase what fruits and vegetables they eat.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? It will be great if the seedlings survive and can be replanted outside, grown and eaten.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? My 5-year-olds are yet to make the connection between the plants and the food they eat.

“It’s a great kit but I’m finishing it difficult to manage now that the seedlings are big- they grew really quickly and are quite spindly so not at all ready to be planted outside. Also concerns around the info circulating about the pesticides in the little pots?”
