In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Literacy and numeracy. Writing and problem solving involving vegetables. We also incorporated the Arts easily into this unit.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Healthy eating was a favourite for our kids and will definitely be an area to continue to grow with the use of our school garden.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Our kids had a healthy eating afternoon making dips and humus to eat and try new vegetables. Children are more aware of vegetables to eat and try rather than just saying they don't like them.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Growing their own food has made them more enthused about vegetables. the actual teaching of vitamins and how they help our bodies. Maybe another school kit to follow up on this?

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? As already discussed we have used this to fit in with our Science curriculum and we have also included it as a part of our sequencing activities in our Literacy curriculum.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Healthy eating is part of our curriculum and this has provided us with the opportunity to discuss this in a meaningful as well as given the children a sense of agency in that they can grow and eat their own produce.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Students work together to identify the healthy vegetable options that are included in their lunch box each day. They then encourage each other to try something new by suggesting that they include it in tomorrow's lunch. Children are looking forward to try

They have taken the pledge very seriously and are often heard in the playground chanting 'Protect, Grow and Taste' vegetables! What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Children finding out about gardening and wanting to create their own family gardens at home. Future opportunities - investigating sugar content in foods and packaging information

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The kit provided a lot of opportunity to discuss the healthy foods we were growing. The children had lots of opportunity to ask questions and really get into planting. They were all very excited to start their own gardens at home.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? As mentioned above it supported our unit of ways to look after ourselves.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We noted how the seeds took different length of time to germinate. It also helped to demonstrate to the children that we grow and mature at different rates.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We did a unit about looking after ourselves and this resource supported the teaching of how easy it is to grow our own vegetables.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? As yet, it is all hypothetical - I'm hoping for further awareness and enjoyment once the veges are ready to eat. It has increased their knowledge of different types of veges and why they are important in their diet.

“The Little Gardens are so engaging for the kids and are an easy way to ensure all students are introduced to the possibility of growing your own food. We are able to plant them out in the school garden and later on we get to eat them. The extra resources that are found for us, both hard copy and online, add to the learning and to the engagement.”
