How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?
In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We used this kit for health studies - learning about eating healthy and why vegetables are good for our bodies. Science - learning about what a plant needs to survive and grow and how we can care for them. Writing - learning about reading and breaking
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? looking into healthy bodies and body functions eg: how healthy eating effects our body
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We were able to explore why vegetables are so good for us and then tasted a variety of ones, some many of the children had never tried before.
The children had a great time watching the seeds sprout and the seedlings begin to grow. We also loved cracking the coded messages and tasting a variety of new vegetables. The only thing we found tricky was that we did not have enough room at school for the seedlings to be replanted into a garden here, and with the school holidays/timing we sent the seedlings home with the students but most of them died.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Opportunities to have them maintaining the school garden, seeing the veges growing, then eating or cooking with those veges.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We discussed the importance of healthy eating and ways of doing so - I think it made them think more about where veges come from and now they are very excited to harvest any veges from our school garden and they all want to try them.
Our students loved this little garden school kit. They were captivated right from the beginning, as they loved signing the pledge and getting their badges. They throughly enjoyed the planting process as a lot of them had never seen a new world little garden before so were surprised by the 'magic dirt'.

This was the coolest kit!! It was easy to engage students in the hands on / practical tasks - the game, badges, code cracking and of course planting, were enjoyed by all. We had lots of fun posting our application letters and completing challenges to join the Miro (our class name) branch of the Little Gardening League. The teacher notes were easy to follow and there was heap of other links, songs and activities to do as well.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? They are more aware of how vegetables are grown, and have been introduced to the many different types of vegetables. Some have been more experiential with trying out new vegetables. I have had feedback from parents who have started vegetable gardens a
This kit was an excellent resource for students to get engaged with learning about the different types of vegetables there are as well as growing a vegetable from a seed. Students learnt about the different stages of growing a plant from a seed, the germination process, seedling and then it growing into a plant. Having the ";Little Garden League' was a clever way for also getting the students on board with the learning, and the fun activities that went along with this unit. I'm a teacher that does not have much experience with growing vegetables, and this resource was very helpful for me to provide teaching and learning experiences for my students. This ";Little Garden League"; resource has led into our junior school's next inquiry learning of ";Growing a Sunflower"; with science, and ";What is the financial costs of having a flower garden"; in financial literacy.

My students were really hooked with the mysterious story around the Little Garden. They enjoyed the matching game and growing their little pottles. It gave us an opportunity to discuss vegetables and health. It would have been nice for it to part of a nature unit. Instead we just treated it as a standalone activity.
