My Year 3-4 class really enjoyed the process of preparing for joining the Little Garden League. Many of them had participated in the Little Garden league a couple of years ago in a younger class and had fond memories. My class benefitted from the 'caring' angle taken by the unit. Caring for each other as well as caring for the plants was the angle we took. I hope you enjoy the photos :)

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Our students had pretty good prior knowledge of the basics, but it was great to be able to teach them more about herbs and some of the less mainstream vegetables that many 5 year olds haven't tried.
This was a fantastic kit. The class was super excited to see it arrive and unpack it! It fit in really well with our science theme for the term and added on to previous learning.

The little garden kit was great for my class and our younger buddies. We spent time discussing plants and gardens as well as composting. Little buddies and big buddies planted the seeds in the cups and enjoyed playing spot it with the cards. Unfortunately, many of our original plants didn't make it. But I got some from some friends and we tried again at the start of term 4. Many of our plants are ready to be planted in the school garden in the next week or so.

We have done this same kit in the past. I choose 'GREAT' based on this. I went ahead and organised to be a part of this based on previous experience. However, I have to admit that the term 'went to custard'. We are in the throes of a building project meaning disestablished classrooms, sharing of spaces, teachers leaving, COVID, sickness. We were not able to complete this kit so the children will be growing their own plants at home. Sincerest apologies.
