Little garden kit was fun to complete in my class. The students enjoyed the mystery aspect to it the most and got excited receiving messages I made up from the HQ. My students focused mostly on the growing aspect of the kit and learnt about germination, growth ect more than healthy eating! The resources that came with the kit were fun and created a great atmosphere in the class. Would like to do this kit again next year and I’d recommend starting it at the beginning of the term rather than half way through as I did.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? This kit sparked an idea for future gardening units and an opportunity to cook and try different vegetables in different ways. We were able to use our devices and use our research skills to look up how to care for our vegetables.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? This kit provided opportunities to have discussions around vegetables, fruits and gardening. We talked about what we like and don't like in terms of vegetables. Which also helped us to talk about what is healthy to eat.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Most of the children already knew a variety of vegetables, but we were able to talk about and look at other vegetables we were unfamiliar with or ones not in the kit.
The kit was very cool and fun to do. Students enjoyed planting and learning and talking about gardening. We are still working on the kit as we already had a set plan for Term 3 and with assessments in term 4 we have been slowly working through it. Definitely a good idea to take advantage of all of the resources on the kit page, study up or you'll be flailing a bit like me a non gardener :)

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? They were amazed to learn about out how their favourite vegetables start life from a seed and what they need in order to grow.
We have loved growing your plants and hopefully the kids will be eating them with their families. Unfortunately I had an accident and can't be at school for the rest of the term but I have some photos I can add. The learning was very meaningful and the kids really embraced the work involved in nurturing plants despite the wind and rain. Because I couldn't be there to finish up I am proud of them and their parents to finish growing them at home for their families. We also had so many donated that they had quite a few to look after. So all our plans to put them in our school Enviro garden didn't happen. I also don't have a photo of our Clubhouse but we do have one. Thank you School Kit.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We used the kit as a writing experience. We then wrote instructions on how to plant a seed using the kit. This was then used as a purpose to write for a student who wasn't there that day.

I completed this kit with 5 year olds and it was great learning for them. They had no idea of the process to grow and harvest veges so has been fantastic learning of the process and what goes into our food.
