In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? They were interested to hear of other children's enjoyment of veggies and have made a pledge to try more of these.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? They were not familiar with many of the vegetables so we brought some of these in.
Thank you for your generous gifts of seedlings and related resources. Our children enjoyed doing an inquiry on germination and were engrossed by the whole process. Their seedlings were sent home after ten days in order for these to be planted and our school moved on to a new school wide focus. This study could have lent itself to more exploration since the children were so enthusiastic.

I had a high number of the same plant in my kit. The children were a little dissapointed by this.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Card game used to help identify vegies.
Children loved planting little garden plants. Some took theirs home today, others have chosen to plant theirs in the school garden. As the plants are still small, we can't yet tell if they promote healthy eating. They have led to some discussion of trying different food. Children loved taking the LGL pledge and receiving their badges.

Great kit - kids were super excited about the plants. We had a great discussion about plants, lifecycles etc. Kids were able to take home plants through the holidays and had a research activity to do. The game and additional bits were a bit confusing, unfortunately. Some clearer rules/guidelines/suggestions would help. This was my first time using a kit, but would certainly join up again!

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Our children took some of the plants home to plant in their home gardens and feedback from parents was that they loved how much the children had learnt.

Absolutely loved this kit. My class loved growing and learning about the variety of plants. Was awesome!

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Spoke a lot regarding things that grow in the ground and on trees are what we should consume. We started composting too this term which also helped with this topic.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? This was my first class as a beginner teacher so I’ve made mistakes along the way. I got the tags wet and confused what’s what… they are mystery plants.
We arrived late with our kits but you wouldn’t guess! They have grown so well the plants enjoy their spot under the deck. The children have enjoyed watching how quickly some have progressed. With the end of year approaching it’s time to pot them so the children can grow them at home

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Kids were fascinated that they could grow their own good so easily and successfully.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Unfortunately the timing of the holidays after we planted our seeds and got them to sprout meant we were unable to build on this.
Kids loved watching the seeds grow and being able to tale them home to plant. Lovely display box and the badges were a hit! Thank you!
