What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Integrated well with our topic of "processes" and the process of how a seed grows. The children loved the hands on experience. We had a lot of discussions about where certain vegetables come from/how they grow. Lots of great maths opportunities. How high

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? This was a really interesting topic that we will continue to delve into. It really fascinated me that my Year 0 class really struggled to come up with food that was "good" for our bodies. After lots of discussions and planting our seeds I think they have
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Huge learning for my year 0 class. I found it interesting that the majority of my class didn't know where vegetables came from. It provided me with some really good talking points to start with. They were all really excited to care for their own plant -
This kit provided lots of amazing learning opportunities. Children were engaged and I observed their oral language really flourish during this unit. My children were excited to learn and really enjoyed the process of watching their seeds grow. They learnt so much about how plants grow and all about different vegetables. This kit really was a foundation for such a fabulous, rich unit of learning.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Made them more amenable than I thought to trying new things.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? We failed to keep following through to get them growing really consistently. Fantastic those that met with success. Yes definitely able to identify verges we grew.
We loved getting the and getting into it. The shard sense of purpose was awesome and excitement generated with ideas. Two suggestions, the expandable material holding the seed is so cool to start it, maybe it needs another type of material for once the seed is growing as it just didn't support the seed and we didn't maintain our success as desired. Secondly probably our consistency was hindered by trying to sieze the opportunity to get the kit, but we were already overwhelmed by our own mahi.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Students were able to relate to most vegetables and discuss which ones they like/dislike. There was a lot of interest in smelling the different vegetable seedlings, I suspect there will be a lot of interest in tasting the vegetables when they are ready.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Students were able to name most vegetables. Approx. 75-85%
Great interest and there were lots of little gardens so everyone could be involved. All seedlings grew, even the ones that were barely under any soil. This made for an exciting wait to see if they would grow as successful as the rest.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? This was not our focus in the end as the children were captivated by the science of soil
This was a great kit that inspired the children to get out into the school garden to prepare the beds ready for the plants. Children had a fantastic time learning about soil and composting and finding all the bugs hidden within. Children also learnt that if you forget to water your seedlings they wilt and die. What can we say. It is all learning.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We've measured the height of our peas and corn and written letters to the principal to ask for some money to purchase some plants.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We can't wait for our vegetables to grow big enough for us to eat them.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Lots of discussion held around vegetables, what we've tasted, what we'd like or be willing to taste.
Our students were fully engaged in the planting and growing of our little gardens. They were eager to be part of the league and worked hard to be responsible for our plants. We've now grown sunflowers and will add these to our vegetable gardens to attract some bees. Thanks for the opportunity to participate in this, we've all loved it!
