The tamariki loved receiving this kit. Along with whānau, we watched the seedlings grow in the classroom and then transferred planted them in front of the cloak room. This was an area of the kura that had been identified as needed some love and attention. The tamariki have continued to take responsibility for this area and we have now begun to think about what we will do with the produce in the new year.

my class have loved this pack! We started it in Term 4 because I was worried about weather conditions (frosts and rain) during term 3 and the holidays. it has been a great way to support our 'Taha Tinana' focus, by using our garden to talk about fuelling our bodies with good food.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We paired this with our Change Inquiry and looked at how we could change recipes to include more veggies- we took inspiration from the Make Vegetable Cake kit we had in 2021 that took a COVID lockdown hit. Science and Math featured in this.

What a kit! We are fortunate enough to have a New World close by who donated extra seedling kits, so I'll be replicating this kit in 2023 with my new class as a way of continuing the learning! Kids LOVED being part of a secret squad and creating vegetable recipes. We also teamed this up with a Chapter Chat activity from "A Boy Called Christmas" and made creations out of vegetables. Thanks School Kit!

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We have had an over arching theme of 'Food Glorious Food' this year so this was a great tie up of all our learning. We used writing, maths, and of course inquiry. We wrote about what our plants are doing and how we are keeping them alive! We kept a record
