Children loved the kit and were so excited to see their crops growing. We are taking it a step further and doing big pots for parents for Christmas. It was informational and easy to follow. Definitely will do this again, infact it is the second time I have done this with year 2 thank you

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? I haven’t noticed a change in this area.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Many of the children are learning how to recognise root vegetables from herbs.
Great kit that really got my students excited about seedlings and gardens. Unfortunately, many of the plants haven’t shown continued success when planted in the outside garden. The students aren’t too upset though, they have learnt that the area we are planting in is too hot, and the soil might not be suitable either. Great kit for learning and growing our children’s knowledge.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? This was not something we talked about in depth, but certainly we started to link between the little gardens and our Brain Break food.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? This was so much fun - so many vegetables and herbs were new to the children.
I was really blown away (and so were the children) when we opened our surprise box! The children loved making our little gardens and have equally loved caring for them and watching them grow. I was very surprised that for many children in my class it was their first experience with gardening and little gardens - this meant some serious curiosity and problem solving. We are going to be planting our little gardens our into our school garden for all tamariki to enjoy.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It has made the children more aware of different vegetables that are out there. We were lucky enough to get some extra seedlings from our local New World and were able to grow some for the school vegetable garden and send some home for the kids to enjoy!
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Children have learnt through the card game the different names of the plants. They have also learnt that not all plants look the same, especially in the seedling phase.
It has been awesome to see our littler learners engaged with their learning through planting of plants. We created dairies where we had to note down our observations of the growth (or lack of) during the initial stages. The kids enjoyed playing the card game and are getting much more confident at naming their vegetables! It slotted in nicely with us learning about living things and what they need to survive in the world.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We encourage healthy eating but unfortunately sometimes the parents are not on board and don't always provide healthy food in their lunch boxes.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Hopefully they will know some of their vegetables. Some of the d=seeds were not things they would normally eat
Thanks I did send a photo but obviously didn't get to the right people. The kids have enjoyed watching their seeds grow.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Growing their own vegetables has given these students an open mindset to try something new whether they thought they didn't like it or not. we looked at how we can cook these differently as well to make them taste more 'yum'.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? At the start, the students struggled with some of the basic vegetables but by the end, they could confidently identify all vegetables. Students would go home and come back the next day to tell me about what they ate at home and how they cooked their diffe
The students in my class loved this little project to grow, protect and taste. There was rich learning on how we have to keep our plants alive and the effort we need to put into this. These newly learned skills were able to be transferred into other areas of learning; determination, patience, and an open mindset.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Some changed attitudes, we had some children try vegetables like celery for the first time. The resources were great as always. Some students were quite careless with their garden pots and others have managed well and taken them home to contribute to their whanau kai table. Kia ora.
