How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? I was surprised that almost all my students knew most of the vegetables in the kit, but it was great to go over these with the students.
The children have loved planting their seeds. We had lots of discussion about the different plants we hadn't come across before. We made some predictions about whose seeds we thought would germinate first and have enjoyed watching our plants grow. I have had many special helpers that always remember to give them water.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Many children had new information about eating healthy and nutrition. I hope that they were able to take them home to their families. This connected well with some other learning about healthy eating from earlier this year.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Many of the students already had fairly good ability to identify vegetables but those who didn't had good benefit.
This was a most effective kit- although the growing of the seeds was affected by circumstances that we are not able to control. The learners were engaged in learning more about the seeds and enjoyed the reward of seeing things grow, and the badge at the end

The kit was a hit with the tamariki. The experience for many of them to plant their own seeds, get their hands dirty in the soil was an fantastic opportunity. To then care for and nurture those seeds with the right amount of sun, water and Aroha to ensure they grew was a fantastic learning experience.

This term (4) we are focusing on 'Challenging Ourselves', we used our seeds from the 'Little Garden Kit' as our first challenge. Can we grow a plant from a seed? The children were very successful and loved the hands on learning they got to participate in. Keeping them watered was part of our daily routine and we often found children measuring their plants progress, with rulers. This helped us to use our measurement skills that we learnt in term 2.
